GEORGIA meet up and trail run

There's a pretty good place in NC that you guys can go to. It's Uwharrie national forrest, in Troy, NC. 16 miles of trails. Its 5 hrs away from ATL, but just figured I'd throw it out there. Pretty knarly trails. there's also a place in western NC, near the base of the mountains, called Flatlands, but that's about all you'll find in NC...

I've really been wanting to go here...was trying to make it over the week of the 4th, but didn't happen.

2wd open open here..but i'm down to go..went to durhamtown last time with some 4runner guys..did fine. pulled a few but i would hate to be the only 2wd again!

Ive been to windermere a few times, tons of great trails but the last time we went we got ran off by the cops. they took down my license plate number and told me that i would get a ticket next time I came back :moping:

I'd like to do a Saturday morning, some georgia forestry roads. I have heard people talk about maps being sold but I can't find them. I'm ready! Lets do it before football season starts and you can't pry me from my couch!!

You can get a forest service map from the forest service office:

Not sure if they will mail you one or not. I've been meaning to try and get over there myself. They are closed now (closed at 4)...just tried to give them a call.

I forgot how I did it but I found the map on there website and now I hve it saved kinda like a app on my iPhone. Highlights every forestry road in the north ga mountains. It's free don't have to purchase it. But like I said I totally forgot how I did it 4 months ago

Hey Guys. I'm new to the forum but looking for some north georgia trails to try out. I'm stock and 4wd at this point. Thought I could take a few runs and see if I get ineterested in doing some modifications.
Just curious, are any of you familiar with some good trails in the GA mountains (or close by) that are you can drive out and camp close to the trails? I am from the NC mountains (Boone) and haven't had a chance to camp here in georgia yet. Would love to go somewhere that requires a little bit of trail driving. Look forward to hearing back from you guys.

i go to durhamtown once a year for a dirtbike trip and have seen and been on the 4x4 trails, that whole place is beautiful!

yea ive been to durahmtown plenty of times but its been a few years. we used to go ride our bikes too but this was before i could even drive and before they had they 4x4 trails. i wouldnt mind checking it out.

I'd love to head up to durhamtown one weekend soon. I was planning on going up there in the next couple weeks to ride dirt bikes and I'd love to bring the 4runner and hit some trails!
