Getting bilstein 5100s what level?

Im getting a Set of these shocks for Xmas and was wondering what settings i should do.

My plan is to Run 275/70/R16s bfg kos. My 4runner has the stock non XREAS suspensión. Im thinking Mabye .85 rear and 2.5 front? It already sits Low in the front. Is 2.5 too high? I plan on doing SW/cbi bumpers in the Future too

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The back shocks don't lift, only the fronts. 1.75" (3rd setting) will probably be level. If you plan on bumpers you're going to have to eventually get stiffer front and rear springs.

In which case you'll probably want OME 885s or 886s or some full COs and some rear lift/stiffer coils.

How much stiffer is the ride with OME springs/5100s?

A lot stiffer, but in a good way. I have OME885's up front, and went with ToyTec Superflex coils in the rear. The Superflex coils are only 10% stiffer than stock. Ride now is fantastic. Truck-like, but not harsh in any way. Soaks up the bumps nicely.

If you're going with bumpers front and rear, I'd consider a full OME setup (885/895 or 886/896 with OME shocks) or coilovers.

Yeah it's a good bit stiffer, but you're going to want stiffer if you're getting bumpers.

sonerick, I see you have 885s with a V6, those are taller than the 884 springs so what setting are your 5100s at? How much total lift did you get in front? I assume you didn't use any spacer with that setup.

The 885's are 10mm taller than the 884's I believe. I have my 5100s set at 0" (stock setting). No spacers at all, got just under 3" up front, 2" rear. I haven't taken any formal measurements yet, I'll post them up when I do. Right now, my 4Runner sits with just a tiny bit of rake, which is exactly what I was going for. The running boards are level.

Im prob going to go with the OME 885/896 Spirngs, but I am going to wait until I get the bumpers before I install them.

I am already getting the bilstein 5100s for Xmas front and rear. For now without the bumpers I am going to do 1.75 front and what should I do in the back? Matt stated that the rear 5100s dont provide any lift, so should I just leave it at the 0.0 setting?

You might think about doing FJC coils with your billies, it provides a slight lift to the rear. Some get 1/2", I only got about 1/4" but it also firms up the ride (in a good way). Just something to think about before the OME coils. I got my FJC coils from the FJ forum for I think $80 shipped. You're going to love the billies.

Thanks, you are correct 10mm longer (I've been doing a lot of reading lately). Since they have the same spring rate (884 vs 885) I'll probably go with the 885 then to get the full 3" (you might actually be slightly above 3") rather than needing to install a small spacer.

I would set them at 1.75 in front. I got about 1.25 inches of lift at the 1.75 setting in front.

04 V6 2wd with Bilstein 5100s all around, set to 1.75 in front with stock springs, and stock 265/70/16 tires.

Here it is with one inch taller tires, 265/65/18.

just one notch up from stock seems to have leveled me out perfectly, there's some kind of magic multiplication going on with the lift

does not look like much on the shock, lots of difference on the front end.
