Getting hammered, time for some fun

Maybe not exciting to some but I had a blast. Got 24" dumped last night with another 12" today and more expected for tomorrow. Yipeee! Woke up to 3 foot snow drifts in the driveway and thought it would be best to take the T4R to work instead of the Accord. Was the smartest decision all day because the rest was spent purposely taking the unplowed back roads. Got a little scary when I couldn't see the roads anymore and the drifts were gong over the hood but that's was makes a boring drive exciting. 4Runner performed flawlessly as expected.

The road disappearing, it got worse but was afraid to stop for a pic

made it home and never got stuck, although I managed to bury the snowmobile several times :roadkill:

Holy cow that looks so much fun!!! Down here in central TX we dont get to play in the snow like that. However I am driving up to CO to do some snowboarding in Jan, can't wait!

Looks like fun! Driving in conditions like that is the same kind of fun as autopilot MEL'd, 3 OVC, RVR2400, gusty, quartering tailwind (not to exceed 10kts of course:lmao: ) and low fuel:D

Between a little extra clearance and the BFG's it must be beast!:bigok: I'm so jealous... I only get to play in the snow once or twice a year:cry:

That's awesome!! This will be my first winter with mine and I can't wait for some snow. I'm sure the piddly snows we get in NC will be no match for the 4R.

Sounds like my day a few months ago. Don't forget always break out 'right at minimums' :bluejump:

Whenever someone posts snow pictures, I laugh and think of a guy from Texas who said...

"Whats wrong with your grass? Why is it that color?"

You guys nailed it, dry powdery snow and high winds (blowing from behind the houses)

Come on CJ that wx's for chicks. It was more like CAT II mins with 15G25kts 70 degrees off the runway with an RFI of .20 with no anti skid and no reverse.

I can hear it now...

"hey, here's the camera...will you get out and take a couple of shots of me?"

Tis the season.

Based on the title of this thread, I thought for sure the first post would be full of typos and virtual slurring.

I was mistaken. Thanks for the photos! :)

Day 3 and the storm continues. 4 feet so far with another 2 feet in the forecast for tomorrow :wow2:

Schools, malls and businesses are being closed as are several highways. We usually get a couple of feet of snow around here, but over the whole winter, not at once like this. Here are some more pics.

Snow drift along the side of the road. It's about 2 feet higher than the roof

The other beast saving my ass. This was the second time clearing the driveway today

I have to admit I did get the T4R stuck today. A little too confident on a slight curve and it went straight. :bash: Plowed 15' through a 4' wall of snow along the side of the road and buried it. Got it high centered and it wouldn't move. Luckily had a shovel to dig out under the frame, engine and axles and then it backed right out like a champ. I was alone and a cop pulled up to look so no time for pics. No need for evidence anyways.

No damage, other than my ego. It's all pretty light and fluffy. Only locked the diff to get unstuck, not while driving regularly.
