getting new rims

so im lookin at a set of KMX xd Addict...17x9. they have an offset of -12mm and im wondering will i still have to run the spidertrax or will the offset pretty much make up the differance??
i like the currant stance but if the spacers will make the new rims stick out too far than ill remove the spacers.

They should be fine without spidertrax. OEM Offset is around 30mm, spidertrax make it around 0 so a negative offset will be fine.

You won't need them as the offset is more than enough to clear given the extra wheel width. I definitely wouldn't run the spacers with them. IMO, it would be way too much (unless youre on the big island:biggrin2 and your wheel bearings would probably hate you. It would effectively push the outer wheel lip another 2.4" further from the truck than it is now...or an extra 3.65" from stock.

I'd get them in the +18 offset, not -12. That would keep the wheels about equal to the OEM wheel with spidertrax spacers. The will just be pushed out an extra couple MM.

If you go -12 the wheels will stick out an extra 1.25 inches BEYOND what you have now, just on their own with no spacer. It just depends if you want the agressive offroad look or not.

I have 18X9 +25 wheels on mine, and it looks really good. Wheels are about flush with the fender flares.

right but if the -12mm wheel without the spidertraxx equals what a stock wheel would be with spidertrax (as far as how flush it is) than ill be good either way i think. i still have to decide what im gonna do but im just gathering some info to make the right choice for me.

That is only if he stays with a wheel with the same width. Effective offset changes as a wheel gets wider. That is a 9 inch wheel with a +30 offset will stick out more than a 7 inch wheel with +30 offset.

Right...in this instance i wouldnt be using the spacers with a -12mm anymore b/c i dont want them to stick out too far...id remove the spacers.

No. You are getting a wider wheel and to keep the same effective offset you need to add more offset than you would with a narrower wheel.

The -12 wheels will stick out 31 mm (about 1.25 inches) MORE than your current setup. That is WITHOUT using the spacers on the new wheels.

The +18 offset will stick out 1MM more than what you have now.. It will essentially be the same.

If you want it the effective offset the same as you have now with OEM wheels and spidertrax... get the +18 offset 17X9 wheel.
