Getting ready to sell the boat...

As many of you probably know from my sig. I am selling the boat for bills. lol. Well my plan is to 1) Get rid of the oxidation, easy, just time consuming. 2) Detail it inside and out. 3) Clean all the fabrics and Scotchgard them (is this good to use?) 4) Fix the engine hatch because either my boat guy, or his assistant BROKE off on of the supports, so now it unstable and won't stay open 5) New batteries! What are good, cheap batteries? The batteries on there now are from 99' most likely, and won't hold their charge anymore, so there is one car battery and one marine. lol.

My 4-step method. Wash, Super-duty rubbing compound, Rubbing compound to smooth it out, Finishing, then finally, a good coat of wax. (Note: When I did this I used the same bonnet, when I finish the rest I will do the whole thing in stages.)

Yea. It's a 00' 214 Funship. 25k.
it has a 5.0 Volvo Penta GL/SX. Tops out at about 50. It has bimini tops, a camper canvas, a cockpit cover, and a full mooring, with cutouts for the bimini tops. Slightly oxidized, but I'm getting it all out so thats not an issue. Here is the first page of the brochure, and here is the 2nd page. Total weight is about 4,850 w/o gas (300 #). Once It's cleaned ill post all the pictures of the inside. Oh and here is the specs.

I had a boat for several years, now it's gone and been replaced with a camper. Just didn't get to use it enough to justify keeping it, and now with 2 kids I would use it even less. The camper we use the hell out of (21 nights so far this year, 41 nights last year).

The 2 best days of owning a boat are the day you buy it, and the day you sell it.

Benk777: We are in debt (who isn't), and cannot afford a boat right now, so we are just gonna use it to pay the bills. BUT, if our re-fi goes right, then we might do a 50/50 split, half to bills, other half to a small used boat. If you're interested in buying it, I would be more than happy to show it to you. You're in Milwaukee (or somewhere near there) right?

To racedirt1: I'm not really the camping type, but I love boating (as does my parents who have been boating for 25 years or so). I mean we were looking at campers, but we just didn't think we were gonna use it that much.

Well finally got to work on the boat, inside will be done tomorrow (or later today)

Both sides are buffed and waxed, looks like it is new again!

BTW, this was all done with 3M products and a Colemate Powermate 4,000 RPM RO buffer, and then a Ryobi 4,800 RPM RO buffer.

Cimarron. I'm at Philmont,which if you know what it is it was one hell of a hike. But man, New Mexico is so beautiful.
