So my girlfriend has taken my 97 Limited to Chico Ca from our home in Long Beach (about 500 miles), last night about 15 miles from her folks house she had the runner shudder so she kicked off the cruise control and imediatly the check engine light came on. She called me freaking out because she was worried how I would react. She relayed that the car driving fine now and wanted to know what to do. I told her to keep going as long as it was driving normal.
Thankfully her dad has a OBD scanner and was able to see what was going on. The code P0304 is for a misfiring cylinder, he pulled the plug out and it was extreemly loose, but did not have any blow by on it. He did say that one of the electrodes had a flat spot on it. Her pops cleared the Check Engine Light and said everything is running smooth, so I really dont know what to think. Being 500 miles away it makes it hard to really know whats going on, so I figured this would be the place to ask. After searching it looked to be a fairly common thing for the plug to be bad. Any thoughts?
