Yessir, and really does sound pretty good. I've got LCE headers that might be contributing a little more throat. I think I've got it way too far back, and I'll have to cut some more stock headpipe. How far back is your muffler inlet from the O2 sensor in front of the cat?
I just saw a craigslist 96' Tacoma, manual 4wd 3rz 4 cylinder like mine, and same color. Low miles, good lookin engine and a price that says I won't see it there for long. Be sweet to have both
Got my exhaust installed yesterday. Sounds great and I’m enjoying a little more oomph off the accelerator.
Question: As a total exhaust newb, does Gibson make a pipe that goes from the manifold to the muffler? I don’t need a cat. My new to me 02 Sport is a mess under there and I have no idea what the P.O. did. The welding looks like a ten year old did it and it has two cats, identical to each other. It’s originally an Illinois car and I’ve seen pictures of California 4runners, and while they have two cats they are not identical, correct? In the California exhaust the first cat is round is while the last one is flat. I have two flat cats and a hack welding job.
Wonder what’s going on here and could use some input.

And Rancho5, sometimes the factory exhausts on these trucks have been replaced 2-3 times or more. As the factory systems are aluminized and these trucks are 20 years old. I'm not too sure what your previous owner did, but I've sold a ton of these and most report no issues getting it on. I bet you could remove those 2 extra cats, as you don't need em.

If you don't mind, what's up with the connection to the stock piping? Did you run into any difficulties here?
I am wondering if the 3rz has the same diameter stock pipe as the V6?

Factory piping from Toyota is 2.25". On some trucks, as these trucks are 20 years old it's possible some was replaced before...

Yep, think this was the case as when I did my headers there was no flange on motor side of the cat to bolt up to, had to weld one on. Was a Colorado car for 19 years and had to pass emissions so was probably redone once or twice.
My guys used an adapter from 2.5" Gibson to whatever the stock headpipe is, 2.25 I think. Really wasn't expecting any headpipe to be left, so will probably have that last piece fabricated by my local guys to bolt up to cat directly.

Not wanting to be a trouble maker here. My 3rz has factory and original exhaust on it, it measures 2 1/8 inches outer diameter (fractional callipers) before the muffler. Seems this might be slimmer than the V6 exhaust.
It would be good to verify this as it would mean a reducer of some sort is needed for a 3rz install as HighDesert4Banger experienced himself.

It's all good man. I think I took that measurement 5 years ago lol, and didn't use calipers. So, I may be wrong. I've sold I think 3 for the 4cylinder, as only 5% of 4runner's were 4 cylinders, and sold about 30 of these for the 6 cylinder without issue on the 6. Give me a call when you have time.
