usage? mall crawler or has it truly been used athletically?


negatives, its NOT a limited...you can see the hood scoop. so either the seller is lying, or is not smart enough to know the difference...which is it? and if its a Trial, does it have KDSS?

Yep looks like they put on a trail hood. On the pillar it clearly says limited. So they either got a trail hood or they put on the limited badges. For the miles and add ons it doesn't sound to bad to me. Just my opinion.

based on the roof rails and door handles i'd say it is an LTD with a trail hood swapped. the 2010-13 trails had a different rail setup and didn't have the chome-ish door handles.

I also see the chrome accenting on the rear that indicates it is a limited, but admittedly I'm no expert on this.

Like others have said, worth looking for signs of heavy off-road use.
 
How about the Toytec lift? I don't know much about them...I have an OME on my Tacoma and I know that is a solid lift.

*Disclaimer* I don't own and I have never ridden in a truck with this specific lift.

They were one of the first to come out with a packaged coilover lift for the 5th gen. That said, I don't think the package is any different for the 4th.

I'd look to see which it is that he has installed, the Toytec bilstein lift or one of the coilover units (there's 2 or 3 options now). If he has 3" of lift, I'd ask about Upper control arms and what his last alignment specs are as well. Most report wandering issue with lift over 2" and stock control arms.

They're a popular lift option here in the 5th gen section and I don't think you can go wrong. I haven't seen any issues other than installer error (even that's rare) since 2011 when I first started browsing this forum.
 
I might recommend inspecting any aftermarket wiring. Looks like it may have new fogs in the bumper.. I'd wanna make sure whatever they did is clean.
 
Also to piggy back on my alignment comment...

I'd be interested in knowing why he had a steering stabilizer installed.

Aren't those next to useless on a properly aligned IFS vehicle? Just seems weird...
