Glock 26 v Glock 27

Reviving this :) just got a 4th gen 26. How do u like that paddle holster with the button release? do u open carry off duty?

why not the G23

The 23 is not much larger than the 27. If you put them side by side, there is very little difference. In my opinion, it feels better in your hand and holds a few extra rounds. I would suggest staying with the same type/caliber you carry on duty. As for an on-duty backup, a 27 is going to be much too heavy and uncomfortable to carry on your person. I tried it as an ankle gun and it was miserable. Got an airweight 38 instead and hardly notice its there. That being said, I carry a 27 off duty but am seriously considering buying a 23. Consult your firearms instructors at your PD and put a few hundred rounds through each one to see what you prefer. I have extensive experience with Glocks and would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Feel free to PM me if you want.

Nevermind. I didn't realize there was a second page and didn't read to the end. Hope you like it.

those Blackhawk Serpa holsters can fail in the rare event something gets lodged behind the button/release, then you would not be able to draw your handgun

there have also been a few rare situations (due to inadequate training) where the shooter pressed the button/release to draw the handgun and then continued that pressing motion, negligently firing the handgun during the draw

The G26 and G27 are both fine if you buy an extended grip plate for the magazine baseplate.

I don't like "tea cupping" ANY pistol because my hands are too large--you can force a malf if you're pushing up on the magazine.

I think that Glock has the wrong idea, a small gun should be a single stack--it's the thickness, not the length (haha) that makes a difference for concealment.

I'd think about getting a single stack 9mm like the Walther PPS, instead.
