Can anyone clear up the question I have: Do the 3rd generations have glovebox lights? My 97 doesn't that I could find but the repair book has some mention, so maybe 99-02? 01-02? If anyone has any info this is the post.
Yup, dead serious. Tried several times with just my hand but it kept slipping, put the glove on, came right out on the first pull.Clemsonfan15 said:A latex glove? Are you serious? :lmao:
Just reach up there and get to the side and pull it out that way. If you need more help I guess you could use a screwdriver and pry it out. Make sure you start from the side though. I couldn't really get mine out pulling from the front.
Yeah, I got plenty of my led's from www.autolumination.com and www.v-leds.com as well. While your at it.. do an entire LED conversion! :bigok:Clemsonfan15 said:That's cool man. I would have never thought to do that.
If your replacing the light David try a LED. I would recommend a tri LED from autolumination. You need a #74.
just got my LED domes and wanted to replace the glove box light as well. well... i used the latex glove trick to get the old bulb out now i cant get the new one in.
Does anyone know if the flat side of the bulb is horizontal or verical when it goes in? my head is too big and i cant see anything in there. LOL j/k i used a mirror but cant figure it out for the life of me???
Off subject, but which LED lights did you opt for on the map lights? I'm considering swapping out my stock map lights for LED replacements, just not sure which ones to go with. I tried some a few years ago and was not pleased with the results, so I went back to stock.
Oh and is the light for the glove box still a #74 for '01-'02 4Runners or is it a #73? I need to replace mine too.
Are those the small flexible leds?
I wonder if those would fit in the 96-98 map lights.
Oznium is the way, I have the same LED's in both dome lights and both map lights. Takes some coaxing and bending for the map lights, I had to completely cut out most of the interior of the dome lights.
