GMC vs 4runner offroad

Are the tires the same on both? It’s not apples to apples unless they’re similar enough and I’m guessing that might be the big difference here.

They both have the same tire just different size.

I'm not sure what he has on his right now but I currently have my winters on which are motomasters with studs in them 265 65 17,

Also this little competition me and my GMC friend are going to have wont br until the spring when shes nice and muddy as right now there is about 6 feet of snow everywhere but the roads haha.

Just my .02, but I'm in love with my Cooper ST MAXX tires. A group of us went out to big Bear in December, 2 had BFG KO2, one had falken wildpeak, and my brand new Coopers. In mud and snow, steady throttle was no problem at all. And the price was nicer than the other options at the time

How are they on the road?

Ok so just curious here a friend of mine guarantees his 2017 bone stock gmc sierra Denali (besides his weathertech floormats) could out perform any 4th gen 4runner upgraded or not offroad be it snow mud or overlanding.

Though I might be a bit bias since I'm a 4runner guy I think he's crazy, but he's that type of guy that thinks he's always right and if it's not a "dodge or any american" truck its garbage what do you guys think?

Challenge him! His idea of 4-wheelin is most likely an inch of snow on dirt county road. Would also chicken out because he may put a scratch in fender.

I know in gonna get flamed for this but as a current owner of both a gmc sierra and a 4th gen V8. I can say that my sierra is way better in the "snow" than my 4runner.

Example: a few years ago we got a bad storm with almost 3' of snow. The 4runner could not get out of my driveway with 4 lo engaged and the center diff locked.
Put my sierra in 4hi, went around the 4runner w/o breaking a sweat and pulled the 4runner out from its spot.

Last winter my neighbor got stuck with his van on our street. Tried to pull him out with the 4runner because it was the first car in my driveway, could not budge his van, got my GMC , first shot it pulled him out.

now i cant say how they compare off roading but in the real world and real usage my GMC outdoes the 4runner.

I feel like this thread is similar to the commercials with the Touareg pulling a 747... everyone seems to forget the tiny little tractors that pull every jumbo jet at the airport. Now stopping the 747 from rolling, that would be a challenge!
