Gobi / Aftermarket Roof Rack Usage

Many of you (more so now after Jicko's, Ride's, and Reklov's GB's) have Gobi Racks and or similar versions.

We spend a good amount of pocket change on these gas increasing, noise creating, difficult cleaning hunks of steel and many of us don't realize their full potential. I am hoping to start this thread to bring together all forms of use that these racks allow.

That being said, post a comment or picture of how you use your aftermarket roof rack and or the uniqueness in which you utilize it (Points for Creativity) :artist:

I love the look of a roof rack, but on a day to day basis it serves little actual purpose. Only until we head out for a long weekend does it utilize it's purpose.

I modified my Drabbit's rack with side extensions. This keeps my wet surfboards off my roof.

Agreed, outside of weekend travels, the only service it provides is to look bad a$$. Unless of course you're J-Blick

HAHAHA... No I do not drive down the highway like that. That's just for while I'm at the beach or camping. Stationary set up. I was tired of always having salt water on the roof of my new car. I know that can't be good for the paint.

I also sleep up on the roof rack sometimes, I'll post some pics of that set up the next time I go camping.

I don't use a tent. Just some sleeping bags on top of a foam mattress.

My GOBI is still waiting to get installed in my garage. But based on my Front Runner Rack, it will be RTT in the summer + thinking what else I can attach since GOBI is a full length and 4 snowboards all winter long

It was an Aerigon, google it, it's awesome. We flew my RED dragon on that, I was more worried they were going to hack apart my vehicle than I was worried about the camera. Hah.

I need to get a 3DR Solo for myself. But the gobi worked great as a platform.

Wash mit over Swiffer head. Towel over Swiffer head to dry. Method derived from one of the smart members here on the forum! I just adopted it.

Did clay bar, paint sealer, and wax job before installing rack. Helps keep crap from sticking.
