Gobi Ladder Question to Those Who Have It - Now with photos of new Gobi Ranger rack

Ok, so I put my Gobi Ranger and ladder on today (photos tomorrow, got dark on me).

I have a question about the ladder fitment though. So the top plate fit fine, but when the ladder was on it, I had a hard time getting the bottom of the ladder to be flush with the bottom of the door and getting the adhesive to sit against the door all the way across. As it finally ended up, the driver's side of the ladder is stuck down well - the passenger side is not contacting the door at all (about an eighth of an inch away). The ladder still works fine. I had a friend (210 lbs) climb it carefully while I watched the mount at the bottom and it didn't move at all (not even so much as to press it against the bottom of the door). So I'm wondering if you all think this is fine or had similar fitment issues?

I tried all manner of moving, adjusting, etc ... and there was just no way to get the ladder to contact the door all the way across the bottom. I'm more worried about mud and what not collecting in there between the rack and the door and causing problems with the paint down the road.

If so, Brock will probably have the best answer for you. Mine is a bit off, but nothing I'm going to complain about. Brock's is much worse, though.

Mine was the same, I just tightened it down the with screws until it pulled it tight. There is a slight mark of adhesive on the door above the bottom from where it was pulled. Seems to be fine.

On another note, still no replacement top plate from GOBI :/

This I think is the problem I'm having. It's the bottom ladder bracket, not the top. My ladder doesn't touch the door all the way across the bottom. Only the drivers side is in contact, the other half is sticking up 1/8" inch or so. I tried moving it all over to try and get it to sit flat, with no luck.

I just went out and tried tightening the hell out of the nut on the bottom on that side... broke the little stud/nut combo that goes into that bracket (on the inside of the truck - the pinch bracket) :rant:

So, I guess tomorrow it's off to home depot.

No one else had this problem? I'm beginning to wonder if I did something wrong installing or if there's something up with the ladder?

Try to put a couple pics up. Some showing the full back end as well to judge your placement of the ladder on the hatch.

So, for anyone interested, I received a reply from Paul shortly after sending him these photos this AM. It would seem that I was unfortunate enough to get shipped one of the old roof brackets. That is why my ladder isn't lining up with my door. So, new hardware is supposed to be on the way soon.

not to revive a dead thread, didn't want to start a new one. Anyone with a GOBI Ladder, can you measure the bottom of the ladder where it meets the hatch to the top of the Gobi bracket. I want to make sure that it does not hit my Whitson Metalworks Rack. As of now my Rack measures about 2 3/4 from the hatch when fully open.

Will a gobi ladder fit. Buying one this weekend and need to know before I make the trip. Even though I'll buy it anyways and make it work just want to know if the gobi ladder will clear the 2 3/4 inches I have to work with

Thanks for the help SigSense, I can now confirm the gobi ladder will fit my WHITSON Metalworks rack.
