...Can anyone tell me how secure these ladders are once on the tailgate?...
By that, I mean can someone just come along and loosen the fasteners and remove it while you are not there?...

The Screws on the bottom of the ladder can only be accessed when the tailgate it open. There are actually six screws that need to be accessed to remove the entire assembly, and all need the tailgate to be open.
I've seen criminals do some stupid things, so if there is a will there is a way. But they are not going to do it without causing $$$$$ of damage; honestly at that point the cost of the ladder is the least of your issues.:ak472:

No, not yet. I was waiting for confirmation from anyone who has this combo and then I just put it off. Maybe sometime this year.

This thread got necroed another round, and I know your post is old, but I put 3M clear protectant behind mine. I’m most likely to be using it at camp with dirty shoes and too exhausted to tip toe on the rung.

Not sure if anyone answered, but the ladder is secure. Someone could get the top bolts off, but the bottom needs to have the tailgate open to remove.

Has anybody answered you about this? I climbed up a ladder a few weeks ago and the bottom step is very close to the paint.
Has anyone had issues with this or put something there to protect it?

Did you ever get a response on this? I have a gobi ladder and would like to know if it plays well with the Frontrunner rack as well.

Anyone know if there is a lead time on the ladders too? Or is only the rack? Or know of a place where there is no lead time. TIA.
Just got one, from Gobi, wait time was about a month.

I got a message back today when I inquired they said 8-10 weeks lead time, but last time I ordered two years ago it was 4 weeks.

Funny Gobi Customer Service Story...
Ordered mine in early March....so about 6 weeks into it, to be nice, I used the email request of status...twice.....no response. At Jambo, my buddy was saying "you should just call them, one time they just lost my order altogether"...you never know what's going on there"... So 8 weeks into the 4-6 week Ladder lead time, I called about 5 times and finally got someone on the phone...she pulled up my order and repeated it and my address to me...all was correct/good. She said "yeah, I think we can ship one of those out to you"...it looks like maybe we got your order confused with a "James"... I asked if James got his, and she said no he hadn't yet. (now I've gone cross-eyed, but didn't say anything for fear of losing my ladder) She said let me get this sorted and I'll call you right back.... of course, no call back...but the Fed Ex tracker showed up that afternoon. Whew...Ladder coming Thursday
Summary: I have no idea what was happening, other than nothing was really happening...so call 'em.

I orders mine February 14th. I called multiple times without an answer but didn’t have the time and kept forgetting to just hammer call them. Ladder finally showed up today. I’ve heard they make a decent product but there customer service and production operation is abysmal.
