The opportunity cost of these delays has to be massive. How much more money could they make if they could take care of these problems. They recently moved to a bigger location, so maybe they are making changes or expanding capacity.
I do know that some metalworking equipment isn't cheap, but tube benders and welders are not among those tools in the grand scheme of things. A massive hydraulic press brake to bend large 3/8" sheet steel bumpers, that is pricey, even used. A tube bender and continuous duty welder? Should be under $20k for the pair. Not CNC of course, so you'd pay for labor. I would love to see what they are using in the factory.
What I've seen in business over the last decade though is that logistics are hard for most people to get right. Especially at a company like Gobi that has lots of variations in each design. Personally, I think the company is ripe to make tons more money with better management of their entire production process. But what do I know, I'm not in the business.
