Hey all,
So, I've read through a bunch of this thread and it seems like the general consensus is that it varies 4R to 4R. Hoping someone has a similar setup as me and could provide insight.
Firstly, I do plan to lift the front end a bit more in the near future BUT I am currently sitting at 1.75 inches up front with stock UCAs. Will be putting 2.5in Dobinson coils with UCAs soon. Wheels are Method 316s 17x8.5 with 0 offset on KO2 265s. With sales going on for labor day, I was going to pick up some Cooper AT3 XLT 285s. The 265s have a comfortable amount of room and it seems like all I'll need to do is remove the front mudflaps and do a little bumper trimming and I should be fine.
Anyone have anything similar? Thoughts?

For me, first move was to try and level out the front as I like the stock rear lift. Upgraded wheels to Method 703 17x8.5 offset. Running stock Nitto Ridge Grapplers (265s). Goal was to lift around 1.5 and keep some stock rake. After install, even though I set 6112 for 1.1 lift, I ended up at 1.75. (Not sure why, and I did a boatload of digging). So I just rolled with it.
Did not do UCAs since the general rule of thumb that I have read is that stock UCA can typically handle lift under 2". No rub anywhere. All fit well, but could not get great alignment numbers or much positive caster.
I am kinda OCD when it comes to alignment and tracking straight as I drive alot on the highway. From what I have read and researched, the absolute best way to ensure good alignment and positive caster was to get new higher caster UCAs.
I then installed JBAs and all seems to have settled in; truck is aligned, tracks straight, feels solid at speed.
The byproduct is that I had to remove front mudflaps even though I run stock 265s. This was a disappointment as I was hoping to keep everything stock. Was extremely surprised with this result as I thought higher caster UCA would push the wheel forward even more. But it seems that the new UCA first pushes the wheel back to allow for more caster. Then the caster adjustment during alignment pushes the wheel forward.
I plan on moving to 285s, but I am worried about how much modding I would need to do. I definitely do not want to BMC- there are just zero trustworthy people to do that kind of work in south FL.
To your point OP, each truck is VERY different.
Hope this helps
