going to have knock sensors/harness replaced: questions

1999 with the V6

CEL is on and verified with mechanic and OBDII I bought

from reading it seems I need

82219-34010 for the harness and 89615-12090 for the senors

so multiple questions:

1) what is the part number to the gaskets?

2) do I have the correct part numbers for the harness and sensors?

3) when I search ebay the prices are all over the place, all claiming to be OEM. I obviously want to do this as cheaply as possible while also going with OEM. Does anyone have an ebay seller, or another source, that they trust and that has it a lower/reasonable price?

4) I am going to find a local mechanic to do the work for me, this is way beyond my skill set. Rough idea for labor I should expect for a job like this?

When rebuilding I decided to replace mine and they were like 80 a piece from a friend with a wholesale account. that hurt but figured its better now than after its all back together and running.

Not sure on labor as I'm building backwards and haven't gotten it back together but its more tedious than anything with pulling all the intake stuff off and then the plenum.

as far as gaskets i would think you'll be looking at the plenum–>head gaskets(2), manifold->plenum, and manifold->manifold(where it doubles over). Some say those full metal gaskets don't need replacing but might as well.
I don't have any part numbers, sorry

again, it would be an easy job, just tedious. A lot of nuts and bolts to keep track of and hoses to remember pathing on but document, bag and tag and you cloud get it done in a couple hours yourself.

I would love to do it, just to learn, but only if I had someone helping me who is somewhat knowledgeable

If there is anyone in the Cola, SC area who wants to make a couple hundred bucks for guiding me let me know ha (no idea what a price for this type if situation would be, just making up a number)

seems more than fair to me
it can be a bit intimidating but once you start, you get deeper each time and hell, before you know it you're rebuilding a motor from the bottom up.

thoughts on what I can expect a mechanic to charge me for this work?

and the valve cover gaskets are not leaking but from what I have read it makes sense to go ahead and replace when having the knock sensors replaced. especially since dealing with a nearly 20 year old truck and 270K miles

I'm in the middle of replacing both the knock sensors and the harness due to a CEL code. I also got 2x OEM intake manifold gaskets and 6x BECK/ARNLEY fuel injector o-ring kits. I had recently replaced the plenum gaskets when I replaced the valve cover gaskets so I'll be reusing those. It isn't a hard job, just take your time and try to be organized as you take stuff apart and put it back together.

I unfortunately was a little overzealous removing the fuel rail and accidentally broke the tip off one of the brittle plastic 18 year old injectors. Now I have to wait for a refurbished one to arrive from Amazon before I can finish. Meanwhile I've cleaned the intake manifold well and put it back together as much as possible.

I hate to say it, but your only a few more bolts away from replacing your head gaskets. If you have high milage and think that the head gaskets are the OEM gaskets, it's just a timing belt kit away from solving a few high milage issues at the same time.
