Good Bay Area 4Runner Mechanic?

Hi guys,

I’m looking for a competent and trustworthy mechanic in the Bay Area (mid-Peninsula area) to do the brakes on my 2006 4Runner.

I know there are a lot of nor-cal guys here. Unfortunately I don’t have the time or accommodations these days to do this sort of work myself anymore.

Any recommendations?

They did my 90k service, timing belt included + front brakes. Very happy with their service and nice to get away from the dealer. I will be back to see them in a few months for this years service and a few additional items I'd like to upgrade. Very reasonable and responsive dudes there.

brakes are easy, just do a full fluid flush too. i know my coworker, his dad has a shop in redwood city.

I highly recommend Al-Con Automotive in Sunnyvale.
I’ve been taking all my vehicles to Alex for over 25 years. I take my new vehicles to him, after the dealer service period is over, and he takes it from there. See the mileage in my signature that I got out of my gen 1 and gen 3 4Runners thanks to his care. After I exhaust my 5th gen new car warranty period I’ll be taking that to him for service too.
