Good Bye 3rd gen!

Good Bye guys.

I learned alot about 4runners and enjoy reading post from you guys.

Seems to be a fairly mature group of guys. - a couple of guys. lol
All compared to the kids that think their hot shit in the Acura Tl forums,
and the snobs in the x5 forums. I have no real gripes from the Tundra forums, and 4runner. The jeep wrangler forums are too hardcore offroading for me.. :moon:

I jumped ship and went to the 4th gen. Picked up a '03 v8 Limited 4x4.

It was the additional space needed for my 1st 3 month old baby. His stroller and carseats take up most of the space in the 3rd gen. So the extra added room, ride comfort, and v8 would be appreciated by my baby.:jump: He owns the truck more than I do.

I jumped through many vehicles, and I liked the 3rd gen so much (got it at a good price just to flip) that I got a 4th gen to replace.

Thanks for all your input and help. I will not have to put the 3rd gen for sale soon. See you guys on the other side when you decide to jump ship.

Well, can't argue with that choice. If I were to switch 4runners, it would be for a 4th gen with a V8. Congrats on the upgrade.

As long as it is a belt driven engine in the 4runner there will be no gripes from me. And the third Gen is not the most kid friendly in terms of space.

More space, really? Not when i've compared them. They're only slightly wider inside and have less room behind the rear seat but if you say so...

I recently parked next to a 5th gen, they are Exactly the same length outside and the rear area looked quite a bit smaller. Best of luck but i'm happy with a 3rd gem.

Yep the truck is filthy. I just spent 2 hours after work vacuuming debris and dog hair. However its in good condition. Just not taking cared of. Heck when i got my 3rd gen it was the same way. Now its in very cood clean condition. I mean im not aftaid to get it dirty offroad and camping and such. But this is my dd and i like sitting and sipping my morning coffee in traffic in a clean interior. Other peoples scent and crap is gross. There is a time to be dirty and time to me civilized. this rig looks like it went on a few camping trips with the window down. Drove home and left it. Hence a good price for me. I ordered a dystar lift and fj springs. Should be lifted this weekend or the next when i have time. Ill post a couple pics.

I was second guessing.. The space.. But yes really.. Minus the cargo in the rear the 3rd gen beats it. But not by much. However there is more elbow, leg, and headroom. In the front and rear seats. Its a compromise for creature comforts for my family. However if your a serious offroader or use it as a trail rig then the 3rd gen beats it. So does a Jeep wrangler, but im sure you would like the 3rd gen creature comforts than the Wrangler.
