Voice of reason: "good" and "inexpensive" are relative terms. As someone who has made money crafting musical instruments and has a working knowledge of vibrational mechanics, my definition of "good" is going to be totally different from someone who blew their eardrums out to look cool at stoplights. Also, as someone who owns and has owned several companies, my definition of "inexpensive" is probably also completely different from someone who blew their eardrums out to look cool at a stoplight. Not trying to be elitist so much as illustrate a point.
Additionally, those terms are 99.9999999% mutually exclusive. A better question (one with some hope of a viable answer) might be "what are the best speakers in the $X-$Y range?".
Ignore these two factors and you're just going to hear what so-and-so did for cheap that technically still works (makes noises vaguely reminiscent of music) and they're proud of their "resourcefulness".
Stay away from places like WalMart to meet your goals of quality, and stay away from places like Car Toys to meet your goals of price. The internet is your friend.
