Good or bad review?

Would you guys do a review for a brand new 4Runner like this guy?
I don't have a TRD Pro, but I wouldn't do it even with a basic SR5.
A lot of comments said they never saw such a good review, but to me looks like he tries to destroy a brand new 4Runner just to make a YouTube movie.

I think he's a bit of an a$$hat.

It's a review of a vehicle designed to be used off road. He is pushing it, that's why they gave it to him to review.

That being said, I'm not sure I would buy that particular one unless substantially discounted lol

It's on Craigslist now as a low mileage never been offroad almost new vehicle. Asking $5000 more than MSRP.

Whats wrong with a basic SR5?

The TFL guys do the same thing with every truck they can get their hands on. They run each one of them on the same courses so that the viewers can see how the vehicles compare offroad and be entertaining at the same time. No different here just adverse conditions.

Yeah I've seen that one before. I thought it was a good review. He didn't treat it like a mall crawler but push it hard off road. He may have scuffed it up but he certainly didn't hurt it. I wouldn't have done it to my Pro unless it was necessary but would not hesitate to own it, at a nice used discount. If it can't handle that and live it isn't worth the $50K price tag.

I loved it. Like he says, he's working it and beating on it. The reviews that are an equivalent of a test drive that I could do myself at a dealership are useless. It's an awesome video.

It's nothing wrong with SR5, I had one and loved it. It's all about the money. I wouldn't put a brand new SR5 (which is only 35K, not 50K like TRD Pro) vehicle to do that, just to make a movie. For a life or death situation I'll try that, but not to make a review.
If you want to prove the 4Runner is good OFF road vehicle, you can buy a used one (5th Gen) with high mileage and trash it.
To me, he is wasting 50K SUV for nothing, and he has no skills on driving, nothing special on his review. All he did, accelerate...got stuck, back out and accelerate again, that's not a good review.

And then he put it for sell on Craigslist? I hope the buyer will see the video before buying it.

I don't think the guys on TFL are buying these vehicles themselves. Pretty sure they're borrowed from the manufacturers for review purposes a lot of the time. (could be totally wrong)

I think he was being tongue-in-cheek.

Haha I just happened to be watching this again last night. I like the review because it shows the capability of a stock TRD Pro. The video would definitely have me intrigued to purchase a 4Runner.

Wait you think it bought that truck himself to do a review? Come on man that's a media truck. You seem to be the minority on thinking it was a crappy review. I know I liked seeing someone push a Pro past what I would do to my own.

Sarcasm. I'm pretty sure he didn't see this truck on CL.

I love this review and the video is badass. Pushing the car to its limits and he basically laughed with excitement the entire time. You can tell he enjoys driving the 4Runner!

Exactly what I thought you meant. Good post. And yea, I was being sarcastic with the Craigslist thing. :-)

I see what you're saying now. My fault I misinterpreted the sr5 part.

Im a fanboy of their channel but shame on them if they are posting it on CL like that. These guys usually get loaner vehicles from the manufacturers so I doubt its them posting the ads.
