ya they have the captains chair in the sequoia but they have that damn console in the middle... wonder how har dit would be to remove that

There are a few threads about removing the center console over at Tundrasolutions forum, I think. I believe you can option a limited with 2nd row captains and they don't have a console because there isn't the electronics and seat heaters involved. However, they say it's an option but I've never seen one ordered that way.....

While I honestly wish the OP the best of luck with his new rig, the odd are that in the long run, Chevrolet will not deliver.
I just left Chevrolet, since 1988, for Toyota, and the difference in build quality is startling. Sure ... everything is nice when it's new, but long term reliability is where it's at, and here, Chevrolet (read GM) falls flat on it's face!
I'd love to have a nickle for every stop sign I cruised through because of brake failures .. due to rusting brake lines, ABS modules, sensors, etc.
I'm tired of hearing and reading how the NEW Chevrolet is different. Same ole' s**t if you ask me.
Got a neighbor in the Sherriffs Dept .. They run the new Tahoes. Same crap as before, rusting brake lines, electrical problems galore.

I know right... I truly do hope I have good luck with it. At least I didn't get a Jeep Grand Cherokee! Then I know I would be in for service alot.
Thank you, it is actually a GMC not a Chevrolet. I truly bought the GMC even though it was more money for the styling, extra content and just to be different. Everyone around here has a Sub or a Hoe.

And then there's people like me. 5 tahoes and all went over 220k with the most major thing being 1 head gasket. One had 200k on orginal brakes! We don't have salt in our roads here. There are good and bad vehicles with every manufacturer. My 4Runner has had more interior squeaks than anything else I've owned. Still loved it though.

I like it. So much more power than the 5.3. They should do the 6.2 in all the trucks. For a huge truck it rides really nice with the magnetic ride and self leveling rear. The dual dvd screens and a/c seats are great too. And the 3" exhaust sounds mean!

Congrats on the new ride OP. The latest tahoes/suburbans/yukons are impressive pieces of machinery.
We are having our 3rd child in less than 6 weeks. My wife and I share a 5 seat 4Runner. With all 3 kids under 2, we will have 3 rear facing child seats in the second row. It is not ideal and we considered a suburban, Tahoe, minivan, land cruiser. In the end we just decided to stick with the 4Runner for now. In a year or so we'll re-evaluate and likely get a second vehicle (Sienna AWD or Highlander are at the top of the list).
Just can't convince myself to let go of the 4Runner...it is just too useful here in CO to compromise with something else.

I physically can't fit 3 seats across my back seat without them being unsafe. Congrats on the kid and finding 3 narrow car seats.
I am not going to say anything bad, especially since the OP is purchasing a new vehicle, but I cannot imagine selling a Toyota for a GM, no way, I was a dyed in the wool Ford man, but since Ford is going to this Ecoboost BS, I can see the day when V8's are no longer available.
The Expedition is not available with a V8 anymore. My next vehicle for the wife will be a Toyota or Lexus.

I understand, (seems going backwards going from Toyota to GM) I am just taking the chance I will have good luck. I did look at a Sequoia but it wasn't half the truck of the 4Runner. In addition the fuel economy was pitiful.

Thanks for sharing, I think I should like mine as well. I know the 6.2L is a beast of a motor. The new L83 5.3L EcoTec3 is a pretty good performer too. I know several car rags have done 0-60 in under 7 seconds.

Not going backwards at all. the tech in that truck is fantastic, and the reliability is very good. A sequoia is so outdated that it is almost laughable Toyota bothers to sell it. GM has made tremendous progress recently and they clearly dominate that class. IT's not perfect... but it is darn good truck. People who own them really like them.
Now if you were going to a JGC... that would be going backwards.

I was a Chevy person for a long time - chevy silverado (my favorite truck ever) and a tahoe. Z71 was incredible, tahoe was meh. I was surprised, in both cases, how rapidly those vehicles depreciated. Kinda sickening, honestly.
I remember pricing out used Tahoes a few years back and being amazed that I could pick up a $45k MSRP Tahoe for $27k-$30k after 3 yrs. that's $5k-$6k in depreciation/yr. Comparatively, my jeep wrangler lost $2k in 3 yrs total.

Well there is this thing called supply and demand.... Jeeps don't hold their value because they are fantastic vehicles....
Also, GM keeps improving rapidly. I've had GM trucks since the early 90s. They have all been OK, but this latest generation is a big step forward.
