Goodyear Duratecs: Whitewall or Blackwall out?

W8kbrder, those tires look awesome! I see from your profile you went with 285/70/17 Goodyear Duratec MTs. Do you have a lift kit or any issues rubbing? Stock SR5 rims right?

After much debate...I said the hell with it and did whitewalls out. Gonna powdercoat the rims black and waiting for my TE parts to come in. My Allpro sliders are getting powdercoated as we speak and also waiting for my Gobi Stealth to come in.

I've always been a fan of the 80's. I was a kid in the 80's. I also have a 1969 Dodge Charger and a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner, both of which have the whitewalls out b/c I wouldn't have it any other way.

Shrockworks sells a TE type trim kit for $270.

Also what do you have your front set to? How high?

If I didn't have TE parts coming...I'd just go with these.

As far as my front, to be honest I just told the local shop to set it to 2.5" lift as I didnt' want to stretch everything to its limits. I also wanted a bit of rake in it. I'll go out and do some measuring for you.

Yes stock rims w/ Toytec 3" ultimate lift...set at 2.5". I did have to pull the front part of my plastic fender forward toward the bumper a bit. But other than that, they used the ole forklift to check the flex, etc and I had no iusses of rubbing the would command the body frame mount chop mod. So as of now, no rubbing/scrubbing. Front plastic inner wheel well is pulled forward just a bit.

I was torn between a Silver T4R or a black, went with black b/c I got a great deal on it, but if I went with Silver I would have gone your route with the wheels. Sweet truck

Thanks man. I think you will be pleased. I'm just so happy with the extra firmness of the ride over stock...no more nose dive...feels so much tighter all around...more control. But not rough at all. Its great.

Yeah that was super easy to do. I didn't even remove it. Just took my time taping off and covering the entire front with newspaper. It has held up nicely. Just remember when working with small cracks, try to spray too heavily at once....do a lot of light sweeps. Once dry, use a razor blade to carefully cut through the gap just so when you go to pull up the tape, it doesn't pull up the plasti dip with it. You could pull the tape while its still wet...but that would be hard to do if you wanted a thick lasting coat. Also keep your finger over the plasti dipped part while pulling the tape. Also prevents you from accidentally pulling up more of the coating by accident.

Also did the rear badge and the rear silver strip...not sure how I like the silver strip black and it is now more noticeable....
