Goodyear SilentArmor 275/70/17

Hello all,

Does anyone have experience with the GoodYear silent Armor tires in a 275/70/17? I am going to be picking up a 4th Gen here within a few weeks and will likely be swapping out the suspension for a 3/2 lift with these tires. According to the lift thread this tire size shouldnt rub. I really dont want to spend 26-30K and start cutting on her. Anyone have any experience with these? How they perform? Any pix of this on a lifted 4th gen? I really want to stay away from the small tire/lift look.. just cant stand little tires :P

They'll fit without rubbing.....

Buying a yota and keeping the jeep screename huh?

Edit: without TOO much rubbing I meant. It really depends what tire you run too.
 
Expect rubbing on the front mudflap and forward part of the fender liner. I just removed the front mud flaps and pushed the fender liner a bit further forward. Im not running that exact size but similar, 255/75-17.
 
I believe these will fit without rubbing (maybe very minor rubbing on the fender liner) IF you're running stock wheels with no wheel spacers.
 
I run those on my Jeep Wrangler ironically enough. They are a great tire. Only reason I don't have them on my 4runner is because it had new cooper discoverers on it when I bought it last summer.

looks like he has the Generals. You would think more people would have them with the size being perfect for a 3/2 lift. My other option is a set of the 285/70/17s in a dura, but meh.. dun wanna trim... at least not until I scuff things up wheeling :P

Haha.. I just picked the name to joke on my brother in law because he is a big jeep guy... I just have always like he fit, finish and r&d toyota puts into their rigs. He will actually be pulling me out with his 35s and snazzy new 3.6L.
 
I am running the Silent Armor in a 265/75/16 which I think is about the same diameter as 275/70/17. I love the tires; great gription and really quiet. I got the Pro Grade because of potential towing situations.

Mine do rub at full turn but that is only the plastic liner and I just haven't bothered to adjust it yet. But with the increased width of the 275's it pretty much a certainty you will have issues without spacers.

These are 275/70R17 Goodyear "Extreme AT"s but they have the same tread pattern and sidewall as GYSAs so they should give you a good idea how they look.

I'm running Overland Warehouse Radflo Adjustable COs up front (~2.75-3" lift) and Sway-Away 1.5" rear coils (~1.75-2" lift). More pics if you click the link in my signature.
