So before putting my new skid plate. I noticed that the old bolts are rusted and two are broken of and still inside where it threads. Any tips on how to remove them ? I need those holes to mount new plate.

drill through? if the bolts are rusted, should be easy right?

you might have a thread repair problem on your hands though once they are out, I'm not sure as I don't live in a rust-belt (thankfully).

Two options: put some rust penetrant on from the top - I like CRC freeze off. Then get a good bite with some vice grips and twist off from the top. May have to remove some stuff to get to it like the fan, drive belts etc. or drill it out with progressively larger drillbits ( start really small and go slow to get it centered)until you can get the biggest easy out in it as possible don't want to break the easy out in there or you're screwed. Use new cobalt drillbits. Also use Rust penetrant to do this. A little heat from a torch or mapp gas might also help.

Got a welder, or know someone who has one? If so, take a air chisel and knock the old ones off. Get new nuts and bolts, and weld the new nuts in place.

You can also try a left hand bit. A lot of the time when drill broken bolts with a left hand bit they turn out. The heat created from drilling will sometimes loosen the broken/rusted bolts, and they'll come out as you drill.
