Got me a new headliner, but whats it made out of?

So the insurance claim landed me a new headliner. Its not the same felt as before. Its some kind of vinyl cushion material. Any body know what it is? Maybe its off the current 4runner. mine is a '14 Trail

The ones I've seen are the shitty "mouse fur covered cardboard" Toyota has been using since the 90s. I'd also like to see a pic.

It looks different than my 2015. The headliner on mine is more like felt..... hehe or mouse fur covered cardboard.

mine used to be the same stuff. This is a whole lot easier to clean. I thought maybe they were throwing them in the 2017 which is supposed to be released in November.

That new material is a lot nicer and easier to clean, it's in my wife's new Tacoma. I like the felt type stuff but if you scrub it the nap gets all screwed up and pulls out.

Is it the same weird fabric that's used to cover the sun visors? Or something else new entirely?

Actually yes its quite similar. I guess theyre using them for toyotas, maybe the 6th gen t4r will feature them.

Iv never thought to do that. though my seat covers have molle straps on the back.

That looks pretty nice. The crappy headliner is one of the areas you can really see they cheaped out to save a few bucks. The carpet also feels like its about 1/8th of an inch thick too.
