Got my 1.5" BL today

my understanding is that the front bumper is mounted to the frame itself so when the body goes up, the bumper stays in place. i unbolted the 4 bolts on each side of the bumber rail, moved it up a notch and now all is good to go.

Great job Jason. It never bother me on my truck. Now. I saw your picture. I want to fix mine. I have the evening off and want to do it. Do you have picture of the bolts location?

i don't have any photos but will get some later. best way to describe where the bolts are is if you open your hood, look straight down, there are 2 rubber sheets on the left and right sides just a bit wider than shoulder width. behind those are mounting spots with 4 bolts on each side. I had to take a grinder to the side with 3 bolts to get it up and over the lower bolt. just a notch about as wide as the bolt and about an inch long. the nuts are on there something super tight so you will need a strong 14mm wrench with a cheater bar to crack them loose.
take all 4 nuts from both sides off, pull the bumper out and move up one notch. this will take it from 4 mounting spots down to only 2 but it's still strong enough to hold the bumper in place. i am going to have mine welded just for added strentgh even though i don't think i really need to.

Thank you so much. I found them.:cheers: How do you prevent the gap for the rear bumper. I got 1/8" gap between my taillights and the rear bumper cover.
