Got stuck last night

I feel your pain...been stuck like that myself (but it was snow). I wouldn't bother with a carwash that has underbody spray, take it to a self spray place with like $40 and keep cleaning. You'll need to get on the ground and spray the heck out of the bottom. Hit it from all angles. The grinding noises are just mud bits stuck in different places. I know it's kinda scary and you are probably thinking about a bunch of things but from experience it's just mud....

You were in drive when your buddy was pulling you out backwards. You may have messed your transmission.

40 bucks. That brings up an idea. How about putting the 40 bucks towards an electric pressure washer. What do you think? Then you could use it around the house as well.
And you could gently use it to wash your new ride.

I also just noticed the pop bottles. I like how you probably thought "hey, I'm stuck. What the hell. Let's make the most of this, have a soda, chill out, assess this situation and have a good evening.

I picked mine up from a local tool shop. But just you can order them, just do a search for hi-lift jacks. The off road base will keep it from sinking. If you ever get sliders, depending on what kind, you can jack the whole side of the truck up with it.
 
a hi-lift jack would just bury itself into the mud even if it had the off road platform like yours.

rather than trying to lift the truck out of the mud with the hi-lift you can use it as a winch to pull yourself free.

You might have mud inside the tires. But I might suspect that the wheels are no longer in balance because you have some mud/little rocks stuck to your mags. I had this on car, with snow and ice. Some ice got stuck to the inside part of the mag, I scarped as best I could and then brought it to a car wash and it melted the ice off. Then it ran like normal again.

With mud/dirt/little rocks, the car wash won't work. Had my truck in mud like that too. Even after pressure washing, for way over an hour all over under the truck it still felt unstable at higher speed. If more, better, pressure washing does not work, you might need to take the wheels off the truck so you can better get to the back side of the mags and brush them down by hand. Unless you want to crawl under the truck. But then debris will fall all over your face.

Not really, it will still lift the truck as much as I need it to. If not I put another piece of 2x6 underneath the base to keep it from sinking. It works as intended.
 
Not to be a smart azz, but as more people get involved with the 5th Gen T4R they're going to try to do things that 'ordinary vehicle' drivers (:dancin:) wouldn't dare to.

With that said, I think we need a thread titled: What Equipment Should I Carry When Going Off-Road if their isn't one here already! :roadkill:

Don't spend the $40 bucks at the car wash, just park it at the end of your driveway and put the hose with sprinkler underneath it, then go back inside and grab a beer and a lawn chair! :) Just move the sprinkler around underneath the vehicle to a different spot every 10-15 mins until its all clean.

Trust me, this is the easiest method! I have spent way too much money at the spray off car-washes, and I ended up just as wet and muddy as the underside of my truck.

Now that's a great idea!
I spent a couple of hours last week crawling all up under it to hose all the mud off from underneath.Then had to hose the mud down the driveway and down the street.

I could have just turned on my inground sprinkler system and parked it in front yard overtop the sprinkler heads.Neighbors probably wouldn't be too keen on it but they probably didn't like the mud in the street either.Plus, I would have killed two birds with one stone with watering my dry grass and the mud could have just gone back in mother earth! Supposed to be 103-105 degrees this weekend here in Dallas!Yikes!
