unfortunately nothing yet. I flew home for Thanksgiving so I haven't been able to do anything as of yet. BUT I've thinking about every day so I'll be ordering the hardware for it here pretty soon. By the end of next week i should have some paint, and paddle latches on there.

My dad hooked me up with a router too so I should be able to clean up some of the cuts and make things look better

So i've just been doing some small adjustments here and there, nothing picture worthy. but thats all gonna change in the next few days. I got a 15x4 foot roll of black sub box carpet + the glue. It was $19.99 on Amazon, plus some paddle latches for 10.99 a piece, also bought on Amazon.

here are a couple shots of tonight's progress. I should have the holes cut out for the paddle latches tonight. I was going to try to cut them out with a router but i totally failed on my practice run So i went and bought a pricey bit for my dremel

I cut out the lid for my rear hatch

I also cut up one of my sleeping pads to put in the drawers. I'm gonna glue it in so it will sit flush

I got a ton done today, just some minor things to do do tomorrow and all I'll have left is the sub :bravo:

I installed the Paddle latches. These were kind of pain to do with a dremel but it was doable and now they are pretty snug.

i used several coats of plasti-dip on the fronts but couldn't quite get rid of the wood grain. I also have those chips in that i should of filled, but i was too lazy to go back to home depot

the carpet part was surprisingly pretty easy

I lined the drawer with some carpet and foam padding to try and tone down any rattleing of my tools

so got it all pretty much done. I just need the sub and box now, and then down the road a little I'll be adding some inserts for the sides as well as a folding extension for a sleeping platform. but for now this will do

Badass in my opinion! My only question would be why not just integrate the sub box yourself rather than buy a separate thing for it?
This gives me some hope for my cargo box project that will be starting in a week or so. Sometimes with wood you just gotta dive in and see how it turns out!

Or a piece of angle steel from Home Depot. Just get the thinnest one they have to keep the cost down.

I used an old metal bed frame, folks are always throwing them out and you can usually get at least two 6' pieces and some smaller ones. I even made a folding shooting target frame from a set.

Lookin good! I'm planning a setup almost exactly like this, but I'll probably build a section for my sub like TCMach suggested, instead of buying a separate box. I love the sleeping pad idea for the drawers!

Sometimes with wood you just gotta dive in and see how it turns out!

thanks guys! and to answer your questions, I thought about building one at first but than i realized there was math involved so I that turned me off completely. Plus all the cutting for this was quite a challenge.

Anyway to say it short I wanted instant gratification. speaking of that, brown Santa payed me a visit today.

I've got some more fabrication to do to make it fit flush but so far it sounded great!

So I got the sub in and everything relocated and... This thing just sounds amazing! and just so you know, I am a sucker for good sounding equipment/music. I can tell if a singer is off key or off beat from a mile away, I can tell if an interment is out of tune etc. Music is a huge part of my life and here i thought my old set up sounded good.. haha Maybe my 12 was just too much but yeah I'm very pleased.

A good set of drawers

Who doesn't love a good set of drawers?!

Great start so far!

I know, the drawers are the hardest part of the build... I did a sleeping platform/cargo box combo and opted to use some shallow, long plastic boxes in place of drawers. Hence I skipped that headache, but I still would love a set of good drawers...

any time Kidvermicious! This was fun, towards the end of all my cutting i pretty much figured out how to get some straighter lines but yeah I spent a little more than i wanted and it was kinda stressful at times

here is some approximate priceing

2 4x4 sheets of wood $21 a piece $42
Sub and box $100
hardware included screws, brackets
dowels and other misc wood $30
Sliders $16.00 a piece $32
Paddle latches $10.99 each so $22
Carpet $20.00

Total $246

this is not including the $60 skill saw and the $20 dremel bit i had to buy too so yeah there it is.

That shallow mount sub was the exact same one I was looking at when I built my rollbar. Sounds nice indeed!
