I just use the spray stuff from the auto store. CRC I think. You are just talking about door latches and hinges, the throttle linkage, seat tracks, hood latches, etc., right? There is no specific spec that I have ever seen. You could use out of a tube or gun, too, for these applications. It's all good.
Don't use the white lithium grease for the hinges. Go by Lowes and get the Dupont Teflon Lube. It works much better and doesn't leave a greasy mess. I lubed up all the hinges at my house with it 2 years ago and not a squeek. I lubed a door at work with some White lithium and it was squeaking within the week.
