Re-greasing zerk fittings - Mini grease gun OK?

I use this one:

A flexible hose is necessary and doing the whole thing, at least for me, is a pain. I have 4WD so that's another shaft and slip yoke to do. Lower pressure shouldn't be a problem unless the zerks haven't been greased in a while. Grease hardens over time and it takes pressure to push out the old stuff.

I have always liked the bigger gun for the pressure reason. Also, refills are less frequent, something else I don't like to do. On the plus side, a smaller gun would be easier to work with.

Lining up the fittings is difficult but sometimes you get lucky. Use a rag to wipe off the fitting before and after you grease it, as best as you can. On most fittings you put in grease until you see new grease coming out. For the slip yoke they advise just 2 pumps. A small gun would require more. I always have just pumped until the yoke moved a little but in your case a lot depends on when it was greased last. You're supposed to grease with every oil change. For me that's once a year. Your mileage will vary.

Do you know where they are? On my 4WD:

Rear shaft rear U-joint
Rear Slip yoke
Rear shaft front U-joint

The same for the front shaft if you have 4WD

I use a mini (pistol) grease gun with straight steel tube(not flex). I added a extended zerk lock on end of the tube. The zerk lock works great and makes the u-joints very doable. I use the standard zerk connector on my second mini for the slip yoke zerks.
I tried a hose on a full size grease gun and found it much more difficult.
