Green Machine 2.0

This is my 94 t4r that my father bought new and handed down to me when I turned 16. I've got baby pictures with it and have spent a lot of time in it onroad, offroad, and just rollin' around on the beach. I plan to keep it in the family and hopefully get my kids in it when the time is right.

Just a little background history; my dad bought the truck new in 94. He used the truck for everything, and one day when he was falling a tree on our land, he could not get a good enough cut with our small chainsaw, so he cut it the best that he could and chained it to the front of the 4runner. He pulled and it still would not fall. He gets out. Leaving me in the car and finally gets a good enough cut and the tree falls... Clipping the entire front grill, bumper, and valence, all the while with me in the car thinking I'm getting crushed to death LOL. So short story long, he throws a ARB bull bar on the front, and that's where it all began. My dad alway had a rule for himself which was to help people out because you want to and not because you want something out of it. He really embodied that rule, and used this truck to do it. He's pulled out cars from range rovers to prius's to f-150s on the beaches we used to frequent. I really envied that so I made it a challenge to follow that rule, because if I were in a situation like that, I would want someone to do the same for me. Anyways, back to the truck, it was DD'ed for a while but it eventually sat in my driveway waiting for me to get my license. When I did we gave it a fresh new paint job so the same pretty green that came from the factory and it has become my money pit ever since. The name green machine (as lame as it may sound) came about when me and my buddies first started riding around in it; it was slow, green, and the engine at the time sounded like a bus engine; someone called it the green machine and it stuck.

Got bored so I built a storage box to go over the wheel well. I like it so far and for 10 bucks and a little sweat it was a fun little project

thanks! out of curuiosity how did you rewire the lighting for your license plate?

tap into the running light wire on your trailer plug pigtail, then just zip tie the wires along the inside edge of bumper. Also pull your factory bulbs from license plate holder so the cops don't bug you

clean runner. looks great and not sure if you should really do a bracket lift.

i wouldnt do an exo cage. it doesnt seem necessary- 33 inch tires/ifs/locker/bracket lift doesnt scream you need a exo cage. if you really want more protection, i would look at a interior cage

if your gonna do a SA, 35+ tires, huge lift, and what not, than maybe an exo

As far as exo I think I've talked myself out of it anyway although I wouldn't mind some fender guards and a windshield brow, but it seems like it'd be a little more work than it's worth. And I appreciate it!

Side shot of the bumper:

Ps. I've decided to ditch the bushwackers, so they are for sale! They fit any 2nd gen.

Hows fitment on rear bumper.. Notice any vibrations from that tire carrier? Does the latch feel good?

Bumper is solid, there was a little vibration in the carrier but I fixed it with a rubber door stop. The latch is awesome and the best part about everything is that is pins in place and can be locked.
