Green Machine 2.0

Wouldnt have that problem with a solid axle.

Funny you mention that because the 3 link sas piggy bank has just opened for business. For now the plan is TG's kit with 12" fox air shocks or 12" rancho coilovers, six shooter knuckles, a low steer crossover, a rear 4.88 3rd in the front, underside axle truss, will probably keep front open till I have money for a selectable locker and longs, as well all the other goodies. not just a crazy build, and being that I'm buying a kit, minimal guess work with geometries should be needed. I'm keeping it as low as possible and 12" suspension components seem to be they key to the exact height I'm trying to get.

I like that plan! Nice pics!

I would leave the rear sway bar. If you look at the videos, your rear flexes fine, and with the extra weight of the 2nd gen, the rear swaybar helps to keep the tires planted/ body from unloading.

But pull the front one for sursies if you havent already.

that kit is going under an 88 runner, I also have one for my 86 xtra cab yota. But currently working on the blue runner I had at jambo, found a complete 3.4 swap out of a T100 I'm going to go get. Then decide what to do about suspension, kind of leaning towards your dads idea of a clean semi resto rig so I can flip it

Very cool, who knows, he may be the one you unload it to lol

So a couple of quick updates, got my idler arm brace on and dived back into the rear 3rd, the shop I took it to for my t case issues insisted that the rear end was a problem, sure enough when they checked it out everything was as it should have been. However when the put it back together it was as if they friggin impacted the lash adjusters back on, which cause the locker to act weird. I'm not too upset because they didn't charge me for the work but at the same time I had to spend my day off f'ing with the damn locker for the 3rd time. On a side not for the summer my dad and I are looking into doing a e fan swap, putting in a new water pump, radiatior, and ac condenser fan.

Not really a build update but I took the kayak out to the lake on Memorial Day and did some fishing. The rack held up great.

Been taking a break from modding the 4runner to play with my new toy. It's a smith & wesson m&p15-22 that I've been modding and plinking around with. As fate would have it however the brakes were put on that project. I was trying to get to a fishing spot in the back of a bayou after some heavy rain. I had made this crossing across a high concrete point in the bayou several times before but the few inches extra and the steep angle made the intake suck up the dirty water like a damn straw. I didn't even begin the crossing when my engine died and immediately slammed the brake and started yelling at my buddies to yank me out. Short story long my buddy I'm a mall crawling f150 goes down to get me and starts spinning tires to even get him self in to position, my other buddy in a brand new 2014 sr5 t4r ends up having to pull the f150 out from behind me and then me out of my pathetic position. All in all it took about 15 minutes to get me off the side of this culvert, all the while having bayou water seep into my doors. After tow strapping it back to the house we fired it up and fogged our entire street, drained the chocolate milk oil and noticed that it was eating coolant and was not firing right. Sure enough, coolant in the cylinders. Getting all of my ducks in a row but as of now it looks like a 3.4 will be put in by a buddy instead of chasing gremlins to get the 3.0 running semi reliably again. Shitty situation to say the least but at least it's a fix/upgrade that I can get behind.

:jaw: Poor 3.0... :( lol I'd say a 3.4 would be a solid upgrade though!

Still chasing gremlins, trying to keep myself busy so I made a highlift mount for the back of my roof rack. I've been in a little f150 and it's horrible and boring and no one checks out my ride and it's horrible. Did I mention it's horrible?

Hey Rob, I was looking at your sas checklist and noticed that you noted $150 for your axle. I'm assuming that's for a standard '79-'85 housing since you also have diff armor for that same housing listed along with wheel spacers. But then you have an axle truss for a rock assault axle also listed. Was that a mistake or are you up to something?:biggrin1:
