I'd do a little more research first. Tactical Armor Group used to be Kennesaw Mountain Fabrication, before he was forced out of business by customers that objected to him taking their money and not delivering a product. From everything that I've heard so far, the proprietor has changed the company name, but not his business practices.

If you are thinking Detroit locker, look at Yukon's Grizzly locker. It's cheaper and is exactly the same. I've had mine in for over a year now and broke it in by abusing the hell out of it. It has more than answered the call. Yukon makes great stuff.

I can second the Yukon Grizzly. I've got one in the rear of my 4Runner, and it's one of the best mods I made!

I'll also chime in on the locker--while mine was a Detroit, I've heard good things about Yukon, too. When I would go wheeling, I typically left it in 2WD most of the trip, because having that locker in the rear would walk me right up stuff--I only used 4WD for the nastier stuff. And I have heard the same regarding TAG and their service, although I can't speak from personal experience, so take that with a grain of salt. I have heard examples of guys waiting half a year or more for something that was promised in a month, and poor customer service when calling to check on their much-delayed item. On the other hand, their equipment DOES sound like it's well-built, and reasonably priced.

Yeah I'll look into it, as far as tag, the thing that I'm really interested in is the price, but we will see
 
Truck has been parked for now:( need a new master cylinder for the brakes and I need to check the wheel bearings because there's a little squeak every time the wheel hits a certain point in the rotation. Hopefully that's just a matter of regreasing the bearings (I could be wrong about it being the bearings, if anyone has had a similar problem, let me know what you did to fix it) I've got a river trip next weekend and hopefully all will be good by then, I'll be sure to get some pics up as well.:rockon:
 
You may want to investigate that squeak a bit more before going after the bearings--in my experience, wheel bearings typically make a deep rumbling or grinding noise when they're going dry. Squeaks are often a brake issue. Certainly can't hurt to give them a regreasing, though--while in there, you may find something else that needed attention. It's just labor and time...and good practice.

Very true. The brakes definitely need to be looked through with a fine tooth comb. This weekend I was losing brake pressure on the trail especially going downhill, and now I still lose pressure even when street driving, even though the pressure comes back after a good pump of the brake pedal I still parked it, it's just plain dangerous lol
 
Cb is in, still no word on brakes, were waiting on the mail still for the damn master cylinder, at least for now I can sit in it and make car noises like I'm actually driving it lol

Need to get that antenna tuned! Putting in the new master cylinder is probably more important. When do you expect the part? We're wrenching Saturday if you need help or want to come over.

We just got it today and were gonna put it in tomorrow, and yeah I'll see if I can make it over Saturday after I get off work (6 o'clock)


You wouldn't happen to have the swr tuner would you?
 
Brakes are Finally working like they should! Replace the master cylinder yesterday. About time too, the little white f150 ive been in for the past week, while more comfortable, was starting to get boring. No badass factor
 
It was great meeting you and your dad out at Lone Star Jamboree. Sorry I wasnt around much to go wheeling with you, being on the committee really ate up a ton of my time. Maybe we can plan a date this fall to get you and Sam (and anyone else from the Katy area) out for a little camping and wheeling trip.

We got some invites, HF is probably the most likely location next. Better do it QUICK before it gets too hot.. oh wait, 4runners can wheel with the A/C on.. LOL
