"Green Machine" build thread

Look what came in the mail, also, car is parked once again! Front shocks are all torn up, gonna try to pick new ones up today.

Been a while, but finally found the time to get the hubs cleaned up and. Put on. Well see how long they stay pretty

Nice looking ride! If you dont mind me asking do you have a part number on those shocks? Did you replace all 4 or just front? And what did they cost?

I am having issues finding shocks that fit, function, and I can afford. My 93 has similar lift plus ball joint spacers and my shocks were shot. So I ordered extended shocks from the monroe catalog and they didnt even hit both mounts extended!? So I measured up and found some that "fit" but I'm not pleased with the function aspect. Seem softer than my blown out ones.
I would love to know what you think of your new ones. Thanks for your time!

I don't have the part numbers, but they are the skyjacker hydro 7000s I believe. I got em off of autoanything.com for $35 a piece with free shipping and they are the extended version. I only did the front ones because my rears are still holding up(god knows how)

Hey I appreciate the info. My old ones were held in by a lock nut at the end of the threads. Fully extended sitting level on the ground... Anything is better. I can only imagine the condition of my back shocks.
 
Who said you can't have a little fun in your neighborhood?

On a side note, looking for a rear plate bumper with a tire carrier, anyone know and good reputable companies that make them For the second gens?

Haven't updated in a while... Ran into a little money so I spoiled myself a tad. I ordered a rola roof rack, led light bar, and cold air intake (I needed a new intake anyway) roof rack already came in the mail and is on the truck, and I'm still waiting on the rest.

I would have gotten a locker but that would have meant having to do diff work in the 100+ degree Texas heat

Just a note on that roof rack, if it is attached to the stock rack, don't trust it with anything heavy. I used to keep my spare up on it and it actually tore the stock rack right off the roof. I'm currently trying to come up with an idea to weld something on my roof to attach it to.

Excellent point! One of the racks I was considering, Surco, has a mounting system that attaches directly into the roof of the truck--I guess it goes through the first (outer) layer, and has nuts that lock in between the layers, then finishes with tracks for sliding uprights. Those factory racks are only rated for 100 lbs.--I wouldn't trust them with much.

As of right now the only thing that will be up there is the led lights, reverse lights and eventually I'm going to fab up a rod holder for when we got beach fishin
 
Wish I knew you wanted a cold air intake. Would have given you the one off my truck. I hate having an open/exposed filter element. I live in lower area that floods frequently, I have now devised a combination of CAI piping with stock box, mostly to plumb into my snorkel later. :D

Yeah it cost me like 40 buck and I actually just put it in. I try to avoid water/mud Anyway so it shouldn't affect me. Thanks anyway though!
 
Took the 4runner and our travel trailer to San Luis for some surf fishing. Just in case anyone is weary of the water, especially the gulf, we caught this bad boy not too far from the shore

And it's a pretty good feeling pulling duallies out of the sand
