Bringing this back up. Gonna ask two dumb questions.
When cutting the "blue" wire. You are taking the computer side (plug side) and sending it to ground right? Not the harness side.
Also, those that put this on a switch, did you just run a wire from ground, to a switch and splice into the blue wire so that it operates normally when off?
Ok, I just went ahead and gave it a shot.
I had a spare rocker switch laying around so this is what I did and it works.
Ground -> switch -> splice into blue/red wire.
When the switch is off, nothing has changed everything is normal. Switch turned on, ground signal is sent to to the 4wd ecm.
The 5mph safety still works, shifting into low still enables the e-locker like normal. But now, when I am in 2wd or 4-hi, I can hit the switch and push the e-locker button and it engages.
The more I think about it, the switch was probably un-needed but I read so many posts about people having overdrive and other issues.
