Someone has a used grill guard for sale locally, he says it will fit a '98-02 Taco and '96-99 4runner I don't want to grab it then find out that it won't fit my '97 can antone chime in here and let me know if that seems right?

sounds about right to me, i have a 97 4Runner and the grill guard i got was on a land rover lol, the 1996-2000 4Runners are the same except a few trim bits or seats or other none important things.
