I have a 2001 Limited and I hated the grill; it was the only chrome thing on the car and the plastic inserts were scratched to hell and it was just ugly. So I made my own grill insert because I didn't want to buy a whole new grill to do the satoshi

And heres how I did it:
Took the grill off, sprayed some plastic adhesive black primer on it then got to cutting with a Dremel; this was the first cut:
Second round of cutting:
Then I bought some 13 gauge metal mesh from Ace Hardware; took some cardboard and made cardboard cutouts of the size of the insert then traced it onto the mesh and got to cutting:
Then painted the grill gloss black:
Here are the inserts I cut:
See the tabs on all sides of the mesh? I cut it like that then bent those backward which then served as my mounting points- After bending them back i drilled holes in the plastic and found very small hardware (nuts, bolts and washers) from the hardware store and mounted it that way- bolt through mesh and plastic grill, nut on other side.
