Have you thought of a "shorty" antenna?

Thanks Renegad44! I think the silver billet grill also complements the BP. We were initially going to get a Silver T4R however my car is silver and so is my mothers so my wife thought it would be stupid to get another silver vehicle, We then saw a BP and fell in love right away. I have thought of a shorty antenna but I want to get the windows tinted first. My wife has the same attitude as yours, When I suggest changes she asks me why I can't be satisfied with the look. I think I could pull off the shorty antenna with out her even noticing, It took me a week to convince her to let me get the windows tinted!

Check out the link below, post #200, and 203 for a shorty antenna you might like, I think it's like $12. US. This is the one on my T4R, there are others, but I liked this one. Our OEM antennas are 3 feet, this one closed is 9", 17" extended. My 20004R was the "1C0-Millenium Silver Metallic," a damn pretty color. You might be able to sneak that shorty tenna on...:cheers:

To be honest the antenna doesn't bother me all that much however the stubby ones do look pretty good. I will add it to the list of things to get done I love our T4R, The more I drive it the more I enjoy it! Thanks for helping me with the decision to get the billet grill!

Before and after...

I ended up ordering a Carriage Works billet grille (powder coated black) for my silver TE - $120. I needed to either do the Satoshi mod, replace the front grille or put on an overlay. I have a golf ball sized hole in the grille from a run in with some debris on the hwy -- if it doesn't look good, I will figure out another option.

The CW billet is very well made -- I was impressed with the quality. Most importantly, it covered the hole in my grille without drastically changing the front end... Cost approx $100..

But what is the point of everyone blocking out the license plates? I mean, a million people a day see your tags on the road. What's the big deal?

It is "bolt-over," that's the one I installed, and satisfied. Took the "old man" about an hour, but hey, I was having a couple of cold ones too. :lmao: The black plastic grille just wasn't doing it for me.

Thanks Renegad44...that looks awesome...I'm doing that to my Shoreline Blue Limited. It's going to look great. Black Honeycomb doesn't do it for me either... But as you can see... I'm a chrome girl... ;-)

Just thought I would bump this thread to see if any alternatives have appeared on the market. I really like the satoshi mod but hate the idea of cutting my OEM grille. Does anyone make an aftermarket piece that is 'plug and play'?

Spare stock grilles. The mesh is connected to the whole housing, so you would have to buy the entire thing. Message RiDE, he found mesh thats pretty close to the stock mesh.

Looks like from the main grille thread, the mesh portion can be separated. If so, I would not necessarily have to paint match even though I've got to buy the whole assembly. Is that correct?

I have the ABS mesh RiDE posted, but I want to take my time on this with my original intact in case it doesn't go well.

So that painted part on top is held on by like 10 screws. The mesh part is attached to the entire housing. The only way you can separate the stock mesh is using a dremel and going around the whole thing. That leaves you with the housing, this is then made into a bracket to hold the new grille.

If you just wanted to buy another grille, it wouldn't matter what color the top trim is, that part pops off and is discarded if you're using it as a backup. You would just need to pop that colored trim part off the grille you have now and screw it onto the new one.
