Grinding noise after new tires

So it's been awhile since I've been on here and posted a question of my own, but here's the problem:
1997 4runner, 244,xxx miles.

Just put new tires on 285/75/16 duratracs and now there's a grinding noise. This is most notable when braking and it pulsates like a warped rotor. now the brakes SHOULDN'T be the problem since I just did the TBU in August with all new parts. It's almost like there something rubbing, but I've looked and looked and can't find anything. When I took my truck back to the shop, they told me my wheel bearings are bad and my axle seal on the half-shaft is bad. Now while the later may be true (Probably original axles) the wheel bearings where fine before the new tires, seems odd they suddenly when bad to me. Just curious if ya'll had something that I've overlooked. Thanks.

Suggest you check and make sure that the sheet metal guard which is behind the rotor did not get bent forward when the wheel was being put back on the hub such that it is rubbing on the rotor.

I haven't checked for that specifically, but I've gotten underneath and looked. I hate them put the weights on the inside to avoid them getting knocked off, that was my original prognosis but when I looked they are intact and no wear on them at all.

but see it's intermittent too. It's equivalent to a warped rotor in that's how the sound comes and goes. I can feel it in the pedal and steering wheel too.

nope, toytec 3" lift put on in august.

If there is no visible damage on the rotors or other brake related parts, it sounds like it is the wheel bearings. Maybe the new tires made the noise more noticeable or made you pay attention more and you just weren't hearing it before.

Put it up on stands, take the wheels off, give it a good inspection, and spin the hubs to see if you can feel anything but smoothness in the bearings.
