Griot's Polish

I just got my backing plate, applicator and polish from Griot's. This weekend was cloudy and relatively cool so I decided to do my fathers car since he does so much for me. Well I washed, clayed, washed and then polished it. Then after that I sealed it with Zaino's

My problem is that the polish was EXTREMELY hard to remove. I mean unlike any polish I have ever used before. Was this normal? Did I do something wrong?

I'd hate to do my van or truck now thinking about how much work it will be. My dad's car is small so I thought his would be easy. The whole deal took 5 hours and about a weeks worth of strength out of my arms and shoulders.

I think that the thread discusses Zaino's. I have used Zaino's before in addition to my dad's car and it is easy on and easy off. What I was talking about was the Griot's polish that I used before the Zaino's. The polish was unbelievably hard to remove after I put it on with the PC. But your comment may still be true, I may be putting it on too heavy.

I think I am going to have to invest in the bonnets to take it off now because I don't want to have to do that on my truck with so much more surface area.

Polish

Get somebody to buff the polish off as you polish, while the polish is still WETt as if you let it dry you'll take three times as long to get the polish off, as you found out the hard way!

Thanks wabbit and Doodz, that is what I did, I let it dry. I wish I had known about the water spritzing thing.

Anyway that will never happen again thank god. Thanks also for the pdf. I had that saved on my computer but somehow the file got messed up and I couldn't print it. I will try again right now.

Amazing what actually reading the directions will "learn" ya! :p :D

Hey wabbit, the directions on back of the polish bottle did not mention that and again I just tried to access that pdf on Griot's site and could not.

I actually read directions, manuals and the like when I actually have them.

I knew about the handbook and wanted to read it but I could not access it.

Ok for what ever reason it worked now and I am printing the handbook and I will read it from beginning to end.:nerd:
