Group Buy @ Console Vault

just got mine. overall build quality is good but badge placement is not that great. covered with glue and will require some effort to get it off.

Optimal size would be three total washers. The bolts do not really have enough thread to take that much off IMO.

Bummer, sounds like new bolts are in order then. McMaster Carr should have what you need. I don't know the setup, but if the bolts supplied were not fully threaded, you might be able to order fully threaded bolts from Mcmaster that work and if needed, cut to the correct length.

Or do the washer method and be done with it. :)

Talked to Jenna today and she is going to run our offer by the owner. She has my number and will call me back shortly. I'm ready to throw down if push comes to shove though... :boxer: :D

Let us know what they say.

Hopefully it won't be like one of those TV infomercials (or the last group buy)..... if you call in the next 5 minutes, get it at the low introductory price....

Could be good though....."But wait there's more, if you call now we will send you a second Box for free, just pay s/h!"

If we get in on a new buy Ill go in.
Now seeing the product on here, installed, I have a bit more confidence.
Ill watch post and see where it goes. Like to see a little more than $10.00 off before I place order. Especially if enough get in on another group order (within time constraints vice number of purchasers).

I agree, need more then what the discount online was. I would be very happy with the price being around $213.50 what was the original GB price until they dropped it even further.

Hopefully they call ThirdToy back soon, have to log off in a few.

took 3 washers to get mine in without any movement. definitely a secure and well made product. will get something to cover the badge tho.

Guys, the badge comes off easily. I did not expect it to, but a small putty knife slides right in there. Very little residue was left behind, and I was able to rub it off easily without any agents. Looks way better now :-) I also cut a masonite divider to fit right where the stock plastic one goes. Let it come up a little over an inch. I keep some pens, an air gauge, and other small things there I did not want moving around.

HUGE thumbs up for this product!!

I didn't get a call back tonight, but will give Jenna until Thursday before I call her again. I don't want to piss her off and potentially ruin a good thing! :hiding:

Mine showed up yesterday. I added one washer for a perfect easy install. And the badge came off easily with a little prying from a finger nail.

This is my first Console Vault and going forward I will personally always want one of these in all of my vehicles. Pretty awesome...

Personally very satisfied with the way the company treated me despite the complications for some. I spoke with Jenna and the owner, both good folks with good products. Despite them taking a hit I think on the low low price, they stuck with that and made it happen.

Hopefully the company will not have a bad taste in their mouth after this group buy. Maybe they will consider doing another under a more structured approach. These things really should always be a win/win situation for both the vendor and the buyer.

Thanks Console Vault and WindyCity

I don't think Console Vault are the ones who will have a "bad taste" in their mouths over this, and can't imagine why they would.

I bet that you and 9 other guys are extremely satisfied with the way that it all worked out

Why in the world would Console Vault have a "bad taste in their mouth"? They agreed to a GB for a specified product(vault) for a specified price(213.50 for 5, 198.50 for 10 or more) over a specified time period(until end of May) then pulled the plug. Hell, one of the first guys to sign up on the original list didnt even get one. CV wasnt obligated in any way shape or form to offer this GB. It was their decision. If they offered the price to low thats on them, nobody else but as a matter of principle they should have honored the terms that they set forth. So, please explain to me why CV would have a "bad taste in their mouth. I'm all ears

I would love for CV to come on and give an explanation.

That was me that they did not honor the original price, despite me being on the list. I called back the next day and they offered $213.00 and I said OK. I probably could have complained until I got $15 off, but it really wasn't worth the effort to me. My CV showed up yesterday, and I'm happy :cowboy:

Didn't mean to get folks up in arms about the "bad taste" comment... I will try to explain.

Apparently the original price at the $198 was for large purchasers where all of the units would be shipped to one location. I am I thinking CV gave this initial price to WindyCity for the GB anticipating that they would all ship together?

Later when it turned into free shipping for all, considering that these vaults are not cheap to ship due to the weight, the profit was basically gone for CV and the GB was no longer a desirable transaction on the vendor side.

It seems CV tried to put the brakes on the GB at that point, but then things kind of spiraled. Now it appears that there are some bad feelings, especially for those that somehow got left out when they shouldn't have... I fully understand.

But what the hell do I know... this is all conjecture on my part. Maybe it was just a simple miscommunication. I do know that people on both sides tried to make this come together with good intent. Maybe next time it just needs to be planned out a little better, probably on both sides... then everyone wins.

If they offered the price to low thats on them

I can tell you there is more to the story than that. It is not my place to share additional info, but there were miscommunications on both parties about this GB. I do believe windy and CV had the best intentions.
