ATTENTION :
Got some feedback from DC Engineering that the code is being used for products other than the Toyota 4Runner 270XP.
PLEASE USE THE COUPON CODE FOR ONLY THE GROUP BUY PRODUCT.
Production volume is one of the reasons a lower price can be offered, so ordering different products from agreed upon works against the vendor in that case and ultimately our ability to have future group buys.
The coupon code may also be changing as a result, which increases the complexity of running the group buy.
As [MENTION=96008]Engineer[/MENTION] mentioned earlier. Please be respectful of the offer extended by the vendor so this remains a win-win for all.

[MENTION=55815]Okki[/MENTION] - There is some confusion, DC Power Inc, contacted me as well and said i ordered the unit for a jeep. All I did was click the link on the first message of this thread.
Looking at the 2009 T4R Alternators on the DC power site it looks like this is the proper link?
11139-270XP
The link on page one....is pointing here-->13341-270XP (it's Jeep model)
PS...the link in the PM was correct, just not the link on page one of this thread. I think fixing page one will clear things up.

I want to make this go as smooth as possible so please help me to ensure that you guys get the proper alternators.
First off, when ordering off the website, please actually enter your Year/Make/Model/Liter Motor on the site. That way we can make sure you're getting the correct alternator. If your year is not available please contact me at [email protected] with your Year/Make/Model/Motor and we'll try to get you squared away.
Here is what a 2009 4Runner 4.0 Alternator looks like -

As you can see there are differences between them. As far as 2015 and 2016 they may have made a slight change, but I know the plug has changed for sure which is not available to us through Denso. We've done one 2015 alternator for a Toyota Tacoma 4.0 but the customer had to ship us his plug in for the order. So I'm afraid 2015/2016 units are not available. If you placed an order and have a 2015/2016 I am requesting that you contact me at [email protected] and let me know right away so we can make accommodations.
For those of you who placed an order already please send me an email referencing your order number (#120000XXXX) and please provide your Year/Make/Model/Liter Motor so we can make sure there are no errors when you receive your product. [email protected]

Hi Zmartin,
It has been 'Unofficially' observed (on a few different occasions) that the 5'th gen 4Runner (the LE in particular...) has a nominal available capacity for it's factory installed electrical accessories ONLY. Using the vehicle's two separate electrical blocks (Engine room Main fusebox, and D/S relay/fusebox) as a rough indicator of it's potential current consumption, along with the factory's choice of the alternator's full output.
After that, a 20% safety margin was factored in which make all of our high consumption accessories e.g., HVAC Blower, A/C clutch, Exterior lighting systems, front & Rear wipers, Heated seats and mirrors...etc, equivalent to 80% of our total fuse load capacity. By combining our total fuse load cap., we can get a very realistic assessment of how much 'Potential' current our vehicle may consume with only the factory installed electrical load accessories in operation.
And what's amazing to me... [MENTION=55815]Okki[/MENTION] did some very similar calculating in one of his recent threads: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/2421227-post42.html ...and came up with much the same conclusion wrt the truck's nominal ability to to provide only enough current for the factory installed electrical accessories; I just find that funny how we both concluded the same range of unimpressive numbers!

Is it your philosophy that you'd prefer to have no more current available than what's absolutely necessary... just curious.
And if that's true, what size alternator would you be running, smaller than a 270A to support your add-on accessories e.g., JL audio system (above 2000w), Rigid 40 inch E-series LEDs, two six inch Rigid SR's which are mentioned in your previous quotes... Once again, I'm not criticizing your calculations, just want to know how you came up with the idea of the need for a smaller power plant!

Just to confirm, this product will NOT fit a 2015, correct?

I will call my local dealer and try to get more info tomorrow. Toyota recently changed alternator plugs and I'm not sure if that's affected all vehicles or certain ones. If anyone has a picture of the plug on their 2015/2016 that could post that would be most helpful.

Don't forget, these aluminum billet housings (End-frames) are forged/lathed to every specific detail. None of their alternators are rebuilt or salvaged, cleaned-up and relabeled new. I'm sure that they'll get hold of the 2015/2016 blueprints for you the very same way they did for me Built from scratch; SO HANG-IN-THERE!!!

If it's just a difference in plugs, this could possibly be an easy fix, right? I'm hoping that's the case and would like to get in the group buy. Would be interesting what plugs would be on the 17's as well.

Shop manual gives 1.5 hrs for R&R! Two alternator ear bolts and one additional exhaust manifold support bolt; do not need to replace this exhaust bracket with new 270-XP alternator!

Doesn't look to be a big deal to swap out, slightly tight quarters but what the hey it's not my first rodeo turning a wrench................
