Did anyone venture to tell them that they should update the fitment guide they have on their website to include 4Runners after 2009? Also the fitment guide for that particular alternator lists only 1991-1998 Jeeps.....??
They might sell a few more if they updated their site. Just a thought.

Future proofing would be it in the case of a stock vehicle. Your OEM alternator was designed for the stock vehicle. Once you go beyond that, that's where this mod is starting to pay dividends.

If you are running a larger battery for all that stuff, then you will likely want it to ensure the battery stays charged. Amperage wise you may be ok with stock, but you'll be pushing the boundaries, so why take the chance?
The group buy was agreed upon for the 270. If the system accepts the coupon code for a smaller alternator, you may get lucky, but DC Engineering would not have to honor it because it is not part of the group buy.

[MENTION=83083]rigtec[/MENTION] had his installed by a shop. Mine is being installed by a shop. So unfortunately I cannot provide any additional details on this. Not sure if alternator removal is covered in the shop manual. No special tools needed from what I saw when tracing wiring a while back.

Thanks for posting the instructions!
Color anodizing is available at an upcharge. It can be selected during the ordering process. It does cause a longer lead time for delivery. Clear-anodizing is included in the base price. :music:
