**Group Buy: Gobi Racks and accessories**

I am ordering from Gobi direct at they are 45 min from my house. I've been waiting on an email from them for 3 weeks now. I may run over there in the next day or two just to see what's going on

that would be pretty cool.

maybe you can let them know that people have been trying to contact them and are looking for some responses

Can't wait to hear why they haven't contacted you guys about your racks yet. I was deciding between Gobi and BajaRack and the customer service from Gobi might make me go with BajaRack.

Nothing from Gobi as of yet. They usually don't answer emails on weekends.

I will be getting a hold of them tomorrow even if it means me leaving messages and emails all day. I havent received any type of update from them in almost 2 weeks now. I need some kind of communication from them.

I will keep you guys posted. I'm so sorry about the wait and lack of updates.

Please let me know what they say. I was hoping to have the rack for Memorial Day Weekend.

At this point, I don't see that happening unless it is already on the road headed my way.

I can't say anything about the quality of baja racks but what I can say is that they have excellent customer service and communication skills.

I contacted john at baja rack and he responded always withing 48 hours at the latest. Same goes for the guys at bajarack canada.

They were able to answer all questions and provide accurate shipping estimates. The best part of it was that they keep racks made and in stock rather than made to order so in some cases, the day you order is the day your rack ships.

If baja had a 5th gen ladder its possible that I may have gone with them instead. However, because I need to clear underground lots, I chose the stealth from gobi.

I've taken time off work for june and if the rack doesn't arrive soon it basically ruins my summer vacation. Hopefully Mark is able to get a hold of gobi and let them know that there are customers who have paid in full and have been waiting for a long while. I believe in supporting local business (if there was a canadian rack maker I probably would have gone with them), however, you can only take so much and be so lenient. With a history of poor communication I'm not sure why gobi just doesn't hire someone to handle all the communications, allowing for the company to speed up production by focus on manufacturing.

Hopefully once I get my rack and ladder this will be the last time I have to deal with gobi as I'd imagine any sort of warranty claim would be a crap shoot.

Design wise I think the gobi stealth is better but customer service I'd give to baja.

Mark has provided excellent customer service and responded to pm's in a timely fashion. I'd say that people should have no worries ordering from mark but gobi is a bit lacking in service.

I'll second that sentiment. Mark has been great to deal with and I'd purchase through him again without a doubt. He's been responsive to each update request (I've tried not to send too many).

I too was hoping it would have been here sooner (placed my order on 4/11) as I could have used it several times for some projects I'm doing now that the weather is warming up.

Hopefully we'll know what's up shortly.

I'm pretty disappointed with how Gobi's handling their customers. Truth be told, if I knew this was their standard mode of operation, I would have looked else where as I've made it a point to avoid all companies/manufacturers who treat their customers so poorly. As we all know, there's a few well known ones on here. My discontent is not with the long wait period, but rather the lack of communications. Once again, these companies seem to feel that it's not necessary or in their interest to provide good customer service with good communication. It's not alot at all to expect some sort of update on an order several weeks after accepting payment in full.

In any case, as with others who have ordered from Mark, I'm very satisfied with Mark's service. As a matter of fact, I'm glad that I went through Mark rather than directly with Gobi as I trust Mark will fulfill his obligation to his customers better.

same here.

Thanks for the kind compliments guys. Thanks for understanding that I am only the middle man here. I'm doing the best I can to get these products to you guys as fast and as cheap as possible. :)

I did get a response from Gobi today. Basically in short, they did not expect to get this many order's in such a short amount of time and are completely backed up. Sandra did say that a handful of my customer's racks will be shipping out this week (good news). She also said she will update me with a list of who's racks will be going out this week.

I personally would rather wait a little bit longer for a quality USA made product as oppose to it being rushed just to fulfill orders. These guys will never slack on any of their products. I actually waited about 8 weeks for my rack, but that's because I had some custom work done.

Sorry again about the wait. I hope to have some even better news for some of you within the next 48 hours.

As always, thanks for the support!

I have nothing against Mark, he's answering everyone's questions the best he can and that is one reason why I was going to go with Gobi(really do like the Gobi Stealth as well). Mark seems like a great person to deal with but if he even can't get a hold of Gobi and I'm positive Gobi will come through eventually for everyone but 2 weeks is a pretty long time to go without hearing anything.

Still waiting to see how everything plays out because like I said I really like the Gobi and things do happen that no one can help. Everyone deserves a chance.

thanks mark,

looking forward to hearing from you in regards to whose racks are completed and shipping this week.

edit:

also, waiting for a quality product is perfectly fine. but updates should be given by the company so that the customer is informed.

Jun- I know your rack is for sure one of the ones shipping out this week since you ordered before the others. :)

that's great to hear and i as well as everyone else i'm sure appreciate your good customer service.

if you weren't handling the transaction i'm sure i would never have ordered from gobi in the first place.

Ride how long does it usually take to get a Gobi Rack? Just curious, I also want to order a rack before going on vacation and want to give a decent amount of time for them to build it.

Seems like I ordered one about a month ago and it just shipped today (freight).
Hope to have by the end of week or early next.
Far better turnaround than my Shrockworks sliders (those are out 6 weeks or more)...

A month isn't bad at all for the rack.

Figured the rack would be longer then the sliders.

The turnaround right now is 3 weeks for production and about a week for shipping.

I had a few customers order all at the same time which made the wait a bit longer for them but as of now the production time is 3 weeks.

Any news from GOBI as to who's racks are shipping? Any ETA on my rack?

Thanks!
