I called them about a week or so ago.

Not sure if the spot I picked is "too close" or not. The farther back you go in the C/G, the louder you can be.

He said to call back when we are a week out- so, tomorrow I will know more. Probably around 1-2pm.

in regards to firewood...we can contact someone local with a sawmill to drop off "local wood" and split the cost...we'll get enough wood to burn 3 days for a $100 or so, which'll be $2-3 a person, vs. buying the tourist trap wood from convenience store, that'll cost a small fortune..

that's how these people stay in business ya' know...let an ol' PA boy handle this..

Yup I was thinking something like this too. We could probably buy a 1/2 cord or so pretty cheap locally. Heck even if each person bought a bundle we'd have enough for the weekend. Just gotta make sure it's dry!!!

The problem with that is, we (ny) are not allowed to move firewood more than 40 miles from it's place of origin because of diseases and bugs.

Here's a little update of some of the prizes High Tech will be giving away.

Axial Ridgecrest Ready to Run RC truck (complete with batteries, even the ones for the remote, and charger)
Rigid Industries Duallys (flood or spot)
5 pairs Mechanix Gloves
2 T4R event sweatshirts (courtesy of Qjake)
maybe a dozen or so High Tech shirts
Snatch Block
Receiver hitch D-Ring
Some iTunes GC
and whatever else I can come up with...


And to reiterate the rules so far...
Since there will be 20 or so participants, I need to come up with some rules for the raffle. I don't want one person to pony up $100 in raffle tickets and come away with everything. It will probably go something like this...

1. Each ticket is $1
2. You can purchase as many as you want
3. You will be limited to winning 3 of any of the prizes*
*4. IF you win the Rigid Industries lights or the Axial RC truck, you may not win anything else. (I think this is fair for everyone playing)

High Tech is also a drop station for Toys For Tots this year! So, I'd like to add one more thing for you guys.

5. If you bring me a new, unwrapped toy (valued at $10), you will receive 20 FREE raffle tickets. We would like to help support The Marines this year with the toy drive.

And lastly, I (High Tech) will be bringing a full size grill, burgers, dogs, buns, and chips. This BBQ will happen on Saturday night. I will probably hold the raffle after we eat.

Can't wait to meet everyone (or see some of you again).

I'm planing on driving down Friday night or Saturday morning and staying the night. All you guys with your fancy campers are making me jealous! Ill be rocking my camping hammock tied to a tree. Looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing some great trucks!

I believe the Cove is not under any police jurisdiction. So, CUI's (camping under the influience) will not be enforced. You, however, may not drive yours or anyone elses vehicle while this occurs. And, in order to keep everyone at camp quiet about your shenanigans, you may be required to fetch firewood when needed!:thumb3:

The toy drop box will be here on the 15th of October. You are welcome to bring them in when I see your truck on the 8-9th. I will be sure to get your tickets to you then.

I'll be driving over Friday around noon... spending a couple nights. Bringing my tent and a pretty sweet hammock uncle sugar gave me before we parted ways. I'll be eye-balling those trailers in an effort to get my wife to ammend her "No sidewalk no Sarah" policy.
