GROUP EVENT- Camping at The Cove- 10/13-10/14

Coming Saturday morning and staying the night. Picking up my buddy in Leesburg....former Jeep guy turned extreme soccer mom w/ an MDX. Looking forward to hanging out with some guys that also turn aroud to admire their own trucks as they walk away. Maybe most of all just looking forward to getting away from the day-to-day, even if its just for one day. Checking the wife and 2 year old in at my buddy's house for the weekend to keep his wife and 1 year old company. Both our wives have the "no sidewalk policy" as well...so we don't get too much camping in these days. Wish we could stay the whole weekend. Anyway, looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing some sick 4runners...I am sure my wife will love all the new mod ideas that I come home with. I have already picked up a lot just reading all the build threads, but I am more of a hands on learner, so I am looking forward to seeing all the mods in person....hope you don't mind a little drool on your trucks!

UPDATE


Just got off the phone with The Cove staff and here is the latest information.


* They penciled us in for the dates and sites- without the required deposit. I told you they were awesome to deal with! I quoted us at 24 vehicles with at least 3 trailers- maybe 40 people.

* We will be camping in Campsite#2, sites 25,27 and 29. If we run out of space there (shouldn't) the staff will direct you to adjacent sites so we can be together. The sites are big and with people coming at different times it shouldn't be a problem at all.

* I clarified the 11pm "no noise" rule, and was told we just can't be out on the trails that late, so as long as you guys don't plan on Baja blazing or blowing stuff up we should be good there.

* Firewood must be purchased there.
Can't bring it with you, can't have it delivered. Price is $5 per bundle (8 pieces of 4x4x22"). Let's support the campground with this, even though it will cost a little more!

* Saved the best for last>>>>>>>>>>>>

* Trail riding. All the fireroads/access roads are open for everybody, and some require 4WD.

The "real" trail network will be available for us, in some capacity, for the event. The owner said "We'll chat about it when you get here." There would be trail access fees for drivers/passengers for this, I think he said $25/$15.

I need to emphasize that- This is NOT a hardcore wheeling event! The owner does not want a large group of people wheeling around his camp ground (at least this year!). It does sound like some offroading will be allowed though.

Above all, let's show them that we have class and are there to have fun while following their imposed rules.
I would like this to be an annual event and you all know about first impressions...
