Compare the height of the smaller battery to the group 31M. the other concern would be with the spacing of the terminals, but the skeletonized top cover is likely working in your favor there. If you need me to confirm some measurements, let me know.

Will this tray fit a 4th gen 4runner? Will it be a direct bolt on or do I need to drill new holes into the cage?

Why does the 31m batter have 2 positive and 2 negative terminals? Do you connect the car to the main terminal and run accessories off the smaller terminals??

The 31M additional poles you can use however you see fit. I run some accessories of them. I know some chevy products come OEM with batteries with side poles, so it's not that uncommon in vehicle products either.

The cage uses the OEM j-hook points on the 5th gen. it's not the cage side you are worried about, it's the vehicle side. I don't believe Tyler was able to confirm on other 4Runners while at Rock Therapy, so I would email Satin and ask her to put Tyler in contact with you. If you can provide him with some measurements, I'm sure he can tell you if it will fit.
