Gun Metal Colored Plasti Dip

Hey Guys,

So i recently came across a couple of cans of Gun Metal colored plasti dip and obviously im curious to see what it would look like on my Black SR5.

Has anybody plasti dipped using gunmetal ?? Im couldn't find anything in the search, looks like everybody goes with black.

Thinking about dipping all the chrome, thought it might look good against the black.

Can anybody help me out ?

I dipped my front and rear bumper inserts on my '14 Trail with Antharcite Grey Metallic from DYC. I am pretty sure that AGM is essentially gunmetal. I didnt want black dip on my black 4R, so I opted for a half way point between the silver insert and black car. Looks a bit more pronounced in person. Like it alot.

I just looked on DYC and those 2 colors are different.
The Antharcite Grey Metallic shows to be "True Metallic™ Plasti Dip® Spray"
& Gunmetal (Light Grey).

I looked because I wondered that myself just the other day! :spy:

I got the grey color from Home Depot. I did my rear lettering, but ended up taking it off. It was just too light colored for my tastes. I now plan on getting the same color as F1scher. That seems to have the look that I want.

Yah - the Light Grey (Gunmetal) is not like a real Gunmetal color, as I have seen it in terms of wheel color, etc. The Anthracite Grey does have a little metallic flake in it, which i like, and is darker than the light grey. From front Toyota emblem is dipped the same color as well.

Yah they are great - super solid, nice finish, etc. I was issued their prototype mockup, and while I cant say they are explicity the same as what you can order now, they are really nice. Like the set up alot! I dont have a roof rack, so its nice to get some light up above the grille area.

@op Ahh you must have bought the new, permanent plastidip instead of the regular stuff that you can spray on and peel off like saran wrap if you don't like it :crazy:

I just dont want to go through the hassle of taping up my car and wasting money on Gun Metal when i can go in and exchange it for black is all.

cbi ditch light brackets, as was mentioned in post #4

I used this. Put coats of black then go back over with the metalizer till you like the color.

I did mine with the Gun Metal and I don't really like it. Think I'm going to over it with black. It is a little darker than the pictures.

That looks really nice. I have been looking for a way to make the rear emblem and front logo on my Pro look the same. This is about as close as I have seen.

To bring this back F1scher, what brackets did you use for the LED bar inside your grill? I've doing research on which I am going to purchase.
