GVL Snow Run this Sat 13th - NOT EASY

Hey guys I was out today and the trails are pretty fun right now. The area I'm thinking has a decent amount of snow and its the kind that you can get stuck in even though it's not that deep. Getting up the hills may be a challenge but it's a short drive.

I'm flexible as time goes.

Here's a pic from my wood gathering trip today.

Man, I'd totally be in if I hadn't just finished finalizing plans for a quick camping trip tomorrow.

Hell yeah it looks like fun, but drinking by the fire in the middle of nowhere Joshua Tree is going to be fun too. Next time for sure, I don't have anything planned again until the end of March.

JT is awesome this time of year if you get a mild weekend like this; we do a big group trip to Indian Cove a couple times a year and got lucky on a beautiful February weekend last year - much more fun out there when you're not sweating your @ss off - have a great trip!

how about next saturday 20th? I really want to check out some trails before all the snow melts away.
 
Dang it baby shower on the 20th leduc swapmeet the 21. Maybe 2 weeks I will see if you are still willing to cruise. Would really like to see some snow this year
 
Hey guys, check out this vid I did yesterday so you can see what the current conditions look like. You can see at the end I stopped and backed up because it was getting really thick and the 3 steeper climbs were just ahead. Also there's one section were the snow on the trail is sloping towards a big drop off so we may have a fun challenge there but we'll figure it out.

Here's the deal, I have company coming up this weekend and I'm sure they will want to go for a little cruise with me, but I can't take off all day since they have kids that want to go snowplay too. Let's either plan for an early run like 8-9am or a little later like 1-2 pm so I can get some play time with them too.

If the area I want to go is like I think it will be then we will have enough snow to keep us plenty busy and have a good time. Unfortunately it looks like another warm week in the low 60's so next weekend is a good call if you want to get it before it all melts.

If you want to go for sure then let me know and I'll keep that window open for a Runner run.

I just found out I have a trail damage (gas tank shield hitting the driveshaft) from my trip from death valley that I have to fix before going out again.

Been so busy this week, that I probably can't get to it before this sat.

No problem guys, this friggen rain may have wiped out the rest of the snow anyway, I'll have to do a reconnaissance run tomorrow. Hopefully the FS will open up the gates at least so we can do some local off roading soon.
